While Fixxxer was my highlight of the 40th, standing right on front of James on the floor for this song was an unexpectedly awesome time too. Easily the best performance of Window they've done.
Dirty Window is the most underrated song off of St. Anger and it's not even close. I went to this show and me and my brother both freaked out when we heard the opening to this song. We thought this song was a long shot to be played as we thought they would play St. Anger but we were pleasantly surprised when they busted this gem out. It sounded so great live and Kirk even solo'd! Fantastic song that I was glad got the attention it deserved at this show!

I wouldn't mind hearing some more D standard or drop C stuff from the boys on their next release. James's voice feels like it's sitting in the right place in a song like this, and it'd be great to utilize that nasty snarl he has like in these choruses.
Totally agree. His voice sounds "right" in the C to D tuning range - comfortable, gruff and masculine - whereas in E he sounds as if he's constantly straining, right at the upper limit.
Man I started liking Metallica really late but St Anger is my favorite Album by far and I would to hear a full album with St anger type songs with modern day Hetfield voice.

This whole bands emotions and playing when performing this song is enough for me to say it’s safe that they should play this song more! Kirk gets a solo opportunity, Lars is in the pocket, James’s facial expression and vocal heaviness, and Rob is happy as ever. The best performance of any St. Anger song I’ve seen from them!

When St. Anger first came out I immediately started learning how to play the songs on guitar and noticed that I didn't really like listening to the album all that much, but I absolutely loved playing it. It's really a live energy type of album that has grooves that seem to only resonate when played in person.
There is no need to “defend” this album. Some of us are smart enough to appreciate it and realize how and why it was created. The rest of the people simply ARE NOT!! I’ve been a fan of it since day one. Yes I was extremely pissed off that there weren’t guitar solos BUT I loved the energy and I loved the lyrical content even more. Especially because I was 17-18 when it was released and full of a lot of anger and frustration given my situation at the time. Part of which was the fact that I lived in a house with 8 other people in it!!

Agreed. St Anger songs take on a more natural shape when played live. The album was essentially built out of raw vocal takes and audio from the band jamming in the garage. Random ideas and spontaneous moments. It's a rather unique work, even if it's not intended to sound very pleasant. It's raw, noisy, disjointed, unrefined, lacking solos or many drum fills.. Its some kind of frigging monster. Lol

I’m so glad I was able to get into these shows. This (and End Of The Line) were worth the cost of admission to Night 2 alone. If Metallica are going to continue playing a song from St. Anger every now and then, this should absolutely be one of them. It sounded absolutely killer in that arena.
I Remember they played at 30 years shows, but 10 years after and 20 after St Anger release, this sounds better than ever, fresh, powerful. Great song from a underrated jewel (album).

After a night one which was highlighted by the world premier of Fixxxer, but was also slightly tempered by a little vocal shakiness from James, night two James’ voice was absolutely off the chain Sunday night and this song and Breadfan and Am I Evil were absolutely thrilling. Both sets were amazing. But night two the boys were just ON.
Every time I watch this I can’t believe I was there after listening to their music for 20 years. Live concert is something else man! My ears are still ringing after that night! Lol! Amazing sound, performance, stage, light, everythiiiiiiing… Perfection! 🤟

I am little strange becuase I really love Dirty Window, Invisible Kid, Sweet Amber, Unnamed Feeling. I do love the riifs eversince the release in 2003 and the honest words from James. There was even a guitar solo added to Dirty Window and the snare sounds great. Now its a Metallica Song! 40 Years and still craking out the fantastic tunes! Take care!
They should play 21 song setlist and include more St. Anger songs like Shoot Me Again, Sweet Amber, My World and All Within My Hands (the full length metal version) should be played at every concert. They are bangers and heavy as fuck!

I'm loving the fact that MetallicA playing live some songs that nobody is expecting they do. I hope when they come to Portugal this year they still playing this songs.

Metallica is like a new,fresh band again.
I am little strange becuase I really love Dirty Window, Invisible Kid, Sweet Amber, Unnamed Feeling. I do love the riifs eversince the release in 2003 and the honest words from James. There was even a guitar solo added to Dirty Window and the snare sounds great. Now its a Metallica Song! 40 Years and still craking out the fantastic tunes! Take care!
Bring back the 18 song playlist
They should play 21 song setlist and include more St. Anger songs like Shoot Me Again, Sweet Amber, My World and All Within My Hands (the full length metal version) should be played at every concert. They are bangers and heavy as fuck!
