I found your channel recently and have been binge watching, and this is my favorite video it is just absolutely awesome! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent!
I love your style and the way the paint flows so much, I've put an desktop easel on my wish list. 😊 Autumn and Winter are my favorite seasons, I find my creativity is sparked by the rich colours and soft light, followed by the bare trees. 😊
Thank you again Steve. I can't wait to implement what you shared here. I look forward to all you shared talent and information. I have learned so much from you. Now to keep trying to create a keeper.
I am always fascinated by watching how you go about painting theses cool trees and wildly gorgeous vivid backgrounds. Thanks for sharing this video with us. Love how the brushes work too.
Steve...I'm sorry I commented recently that you are always tight in watercolours...but seeing this intuitive, abstract background unfolding into beautiful landscape ...you made my jaw drop in awe.... awesome 👌👌👌🤓
Trees are my absolute favorites. And I always love yours ❤️ This turned out fantastic…there is always the tree or two in a copse of trees that some limbs / trunk is almost bleached white. Thank you Steve for sharing your art with us
Thanks for the tip on the brushes you're using; always appreciated. I, too, love trees; like people, no two are alike - each has it's own personality. You've rendered a stunning masterpiece from this interesting study. Thnks. 🎨❤😊
I love how this turned out, I'm going to have to go look at some trees...😉 And I laughed with the Tim Curry clip from the movie Legend, very appropriate 👍
I love it when you go for those small branches! Amazon carries a set of Trekell for each medium. 6 brushes for watercolor including a quill and a flat. Very reasonably priced. Still loving my Silver Black Velvets. And a ruling pen for some lines and masking fluid. Yours are still and will always be my favorite wc videos.
Thanks! Yes, Amazon has the assorted sets I see, but none of the ones I'm using. None of their newest brush the Protegé Plus. Lovely brush that one! Silver BVs my long time fav for sure.
Wondering this as well because I have white gouache from M.Graham, but don’t really use gouache as a medium in its own right. Tinting with watercolor would be an ideal solution for the few times I need it.
Love this ! My friend (we're all in G'ville) wants to start watercolor and I sent her a link to one of your earlier posts. My question is did you decide that you like these brushes for other paintings, too?
Beautiful colours and composition and the gouache is genius! Were you painting from your memory or imagination or did you use a photo reference? Bravo 👏
❤️❤️❤️ this Steve 🙂 How does the Protégé compare to the Protégé Plus? There’s a big price difference between the two…I was thinking of going with Protégé unless you don’t think they’re good…thanks 🙂
Proprietary new filament. Supposedly new to the industry. It's supposed to be even closer to mimicking Kolinsky. I haven't used them enough to see a big difference yet. Both are excellent performers.
I wonder if this technique would work if you mixed white gouache with transparent WC, or would it still not be opaque enough... Hmm I really need to invest in a few (colour) gouache paints 😂
I was wondering, do you still use Daniel Smith paints? I bought the dot card last year. Now I have the Ultimate mixing set (with the extra pallet) and Jean Haines Master set.
When you post, I run to TH-cam like there was a 5 for price of 1 at my favorite art shop! Lol
😂

Wow, I love these branches so much!! And I have seen that tricky change in the relative value... confusing sometimes!
Besides your expert teaching of watercolor painting with a kind and gentle manner, I love your Scripture messages at the end of your videos.
Nice. I like those colours. Adds a bit of mystery.
Love this and I still see a horses face in main trunck, so looks like he's peeking thru.❤️

I love your bouquet of trees and the effect of the gouache highlights!
Love it, I’m heading out to the studio to try it. Thanks.
Beautiful, thank you for sharing friend, love it 💓💟

They’re very nice brushes.
Great tutorial. What would be a good board or surface to tape my watercolor paper to? What do you like to use?
Any drawing board you have handy is fine.
Beautiful colours and composition and the gouache is genius! Were you painting from your memory or imagination or did you use a photo reference? Bravo 👏
Imagination on this one.
@The Mind of Watercolor

You should have put just a few gouache highlights on the trees that stand against the bright background.
I wonder if this technique would work if you mixed white gouache with transparent WC, or would it still not be opaque enough... Hmm I really need to invest in a few (colour) gouache paints 😂
Works just peachy. I do it all the time.
@@mindofwatercolor ooh 👀 thank you for letting me know!
Demo.
Great question, as I wondered the same.

Marvelous answer.
I was wondering, do you still use Daniel Smith paints?
I bought the dot card last year. Now I have the Ultimate mixing set (with the extra pallet) and Jean Haines Master set.
I was certain I saw an area where one could attach a photo……but can’t seem to find it now……
👍🏻

First!
A video of light and dark and no Star Wars t-shirt? Very disappointed, lol.
As always….beautiful painting 🥰
