    You should do a serie on modifying the Blizzard. 540 motor conversion, 1060 Hobbywing esc, track extensions, light and the weathering you can make it even more realistic!

    These things are a blast in the snow. I always play with mine at our family farm in MI when my daughter and I go up from FL during new year for her to play in the snow for a week.

    I am able to plow my whole driveway with my 1st gen electric blizzard S/R and an 8000 ma 7.4, the blizzard is an Awesome machine but she needs a bit more weight over the tracks so I took two used servo cases, double sided tape , then mounted them to the body and filled them with old nuts and bolts, I must say it works great ,I live in Calgary and we do get lots of the dreaded snow so why not have a little fun with RC's , clean the driveway and then make an RC track ,very cool machine I think, have a good one mat.

    Great footage Matt: when I had mine with the sabertooth 2x12 esc, I used my Futaba 4PL. I used the 3-position switch for the plow. Made it easy to have the plow all the way up, medium height or on the ground. I found it ouch more pleasant to drive.

    Very nice run footage as always.. I have always liked the Blizzard., but alas no snow for me in my part of Australia. I guess sand could be an option but just not the same. I actually think that this vehicle would be the only thing that would make snow great for me..

It sure did run well Matt .. Thanks for sharing.. Oh and btw .. This more of a "Blizzard in a dusting" .. Here in Newfoundland we call this type of Snow.. Name any weekday here... lol

    How good is it at plowing the sidewalk and driveway from the warmth of your home

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's probably okay, but you'd want to upgrade the servo, get a better plow, add some weight, and the metal tracks. But think of all the fun, from the comfort of your home!

    It's so weird. I was having some serious thoughts of picking one of these up since Ontario kinda sucks this time of year and you upload this video... Will we get a full review of this? I'd love to hear what you think of it?

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll consider it. It's not all that new, but every year around this time, they spike in popularity. I'd say that if you're looking to have a bit of fun in these cruddy months, it's a good pick up. Lots of room for improvement over the long term, but runs well as stock.

    Nice video but how does that work without damaging the batterie

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The battery is sealed, and aren’t effected by snow or water. Lipo batteries are very resilient.

    • @mrarchitekt5585
      @mrarchitekt5585 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought about the temperature.
      As far as beeing resilient i'm not realy sure about that. I mean one of mine explodet while charging and I have distroyed several ones with too cold temparatures. So I thought about heating one inside the car or maybe you have an idea.
      I would anyways use a NiMH batterie but those do not work well too when they are cold.
      Thanks for answering👍

  • @NaturallyRC
    @NaturallyRC 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I mean, I'm tempted, but every time I see under the hood it just doesn't say hobby-grade. Maybe when version 3 comes out. :-)

    • @The_RC_Guru
      @The_RC_Guru 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NaturallyRC I have their electric v1 it’s not as bad as you’d think. Runs pretty well

    • @NaturallyRC
      @NaturallyRC 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@The_RC_Guru Agree that it runs pretty well, in fact, pretty great. But there's general online concern about how long those parts are meant to last. Most hobbyists said goodbye to those toy-like little motors ages ago. As for the all-plastic transmission (with no bearings!)...I just can't get onside.

    • @The_RC_Guru
      @The_RC_Guru 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NaturallyRC I use mine a few times a year. I was hesitant because it is definitely a cross breed of Walmart quality and hobby grade. Added a driver and a dozen more lights that can flash w different settings. It’s a good shelf piece. The plastic tracks kill the look for me need to grab the metal ones some day.

    • @NaturallyRC
      @NaturallyRC 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@The_RC_Guru Good intel. Here at the 43rd parallel, we run year-round, and winter can be brutal on RCs. If the cat weren't the same price as some quality crawlers out there (ie Trailwalker) I might sing a different tune.

    • @Largetalons
      @Largetalons 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NaturallyRC I had wanted one since I was a teen but felt hesitant like you. I joined a group on Facebook and discovered it's an absolute rabbit hole to get them to the reliability level of your average RTR crawler.
