People drive way too stupid in horrible conditions. It's what lead to a huge accident on my way to work a few months ago in Oregon when the fog was so bad it looked just like this and Semi trucks and cars were still going 80 mph. I had to drive off the road to avoid being involved and luckily I was driving much slower so I could react in time to the pile of cars in front of me, but as I drove off the road a semi plowed right into the pile in front of me so I would have certainly lost my life that day.
The majority of automobiles and trucks in the U.S. also have lights that turn on automatically. Just depends on how old the car is. The hazard lights, of course, do not and I can only assume that's also the case in Scandinavia.

It came from dumb farmers who over tilled their fields. They should be adopting no till methods instead of losing topsoil and adding expensive fertilizer.

It’s really not a dust storm. It was dust kicked up by the farmers in the fields near by plowing.
I've seen dirt blowing off freshly tilled fields...but NOTHING like this. This is horrible and my prayers go out to all those affected. 😢
Seems very unusual. Have traveled the length of I55 many many times and have never seen anything like this in the past.

Conditions for semi truck drivers are horrible yes. It's low prices low safety.
Am a truck driver and when there is zero visibility, turn your lights and hazards on then find a safe heaven
