K-pop was never much of an interest for me. Even though I taught English to Koreans, I never understood the whole kpop scene. I have always felt indifferent towards it until a few months ago. I listened to Blackpink for the first time and fell in love and then saw them perform on TH-cam and fell even deeper in love with them. Suddenly I was right trapped in the very culture that I struggle to understand. I could finally relate to my friends who also stan other kpop groups. Blackpink very much introduced me to the world of kpop. I fell in love with other groups such as day 6 and epic high. I cannot wait to discover more music from this amazing culture. It proved to me that good music does not belong to any one language. Even though I did not understand, I still feel like I knew what they felt through their music. Blackpink was also the first group that I bought merch from. The first one I bought was the limited edition Photobook that I got from no where else but ktown4u. Now I have a small collection of official blankpink related items, and I would love to top off my collection by a signed item from them.
