I wish the local brands of my country would take this much effort towards dark skin representation. Although I haven't been personally affected by the stigma, a lot of my friends and family have suffered from it. Yet most of the Indian brands do not represent all the beautiful varied coloured women of our country. Lot to learn still. Thanks for brining attention to these black owned products. All of them look beautiful. Love ya
I wish the local brands in my country do that too! Most of the foundations only have 3-6 shades available and the darkest shades are for medium to medium dark skintones, even though there are a lot of beautiful tan to deep skin-toned people!
@@auliaazizah3718 there's a local brand in my country called "wardah" they just recently came out with foundation and concealer and the shade range BAFFLES me lmao. there are no dark shades. absolutely no medium-dark shades. only light to medium light hELp
My wish list for Danessa Myricks just got even longer! I’ve been looking for a reddish blush that mimics my natural flush and these swatches were so helpful! ❤️
Not a black owned brand but chanel makes a lovey lip blush in rouge captivant that i use exactly like that. Obviously discovered here on matilda s chane
I needed a Matilda video today I've literally been having the WORST DAY! I'm trying to pay my college tuition and my bank is refusing to clear the check because it's "too much money" and "could be fraud" and after 2 hours on the phone they still "can't verify it." I eventually decided to just write another check and give it to the bursar in person but spending 830am to 330pm hysterically crying isn't a good way to spend my Saturday.
2 questions: how are your wrists after putting on and taking off so many products, and what do you use to get it off? Even in stains you can never see the previous product on your wrists
Haha my arm was red raw after filming this video for about five hours Emma! Easily the most swatches I've ever done in one sitting 😱 I use La Roche-Posay's Respectissime Eye Makeup Remover when I film - it's a gentle bi-phase solution like my favourite makeup remover from Chanel, but one third of the price. Those two are my holy grail! x

You are a swatching goddess, Matilda! It never fails to impress me when you line up the arm swatches when doing comparisons 😍 The pigmentation of the Danessa Myricks products are stunning! I’m gonna have to start building my Christmas wishlist early 😂
I subbed to u because my daughters name is Matilde but I love ur aesthetic and how you truly review the products to showcase textures colours and you explain the best methods for application. Also love how you go back through all the colours so you don't need to go back and forth with the video. Love your work. Love these products I've had my eye on them. There is another channel that show cases light dewy makeup I think her name is Amanda z. She shows how u can get glass skin eyelids with danessas products. I want this so bad lol.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Please say hello to your daughter from me. Amanda Z has become a friend of mine through TH-cam, I absolutely love her style! ☺️👏 x
My sound wasn't loud enough when I clicked so I had to wind back for my Hello There! I'm loving these videos, thanks for highlighting some great brands!

Hi Matilda! I'd love to use Fruit Punch as an eyeshadow. Also wow, those neon liners! And I'm so glad to see you making longer videos! Keep em coming! 💜

I have some of the metallic color fix, and one of the new glitter shades, along with the clear glaze. They are incredible. I have the clear balm highlighter and the cream bronzer too. I got a too-light color in the bronzer, so I’m hoping it will work on me in the winter. I would LOVE to see swatches of the other vision flush colors and all the colorfix. It has been hard to find swatches, so I don’t know what I want to order next...
Glad you're already a big Danessa fan Becky! 😄 These are all of the ColorFix shades I've tried, but I'm definitely planning to swatch the rest of her Vision Flush range in future x
Seeing those danessa myricks products makes me think I've found a new love. I wear a mask at work so budge proof products are really the only things I can wear on my face right now
I love your videos and I absolutely think it’s possible to incorporate bold neon colours into a fresh, minimal face!! Love it when you review colourful products
I recently tried the Uoma Beauty foundation and love it. It looks beautifully natural on the skin and feels lightweight. I’ve applied it with my fingers for sheer to light coverage or with a sponge for medium coverage. I haven’t been using it long enough to tell whether its skincare ingredients make a difference, but my skin feels soft and hydrated at the end of the day. The only downside is that it’s not particularly long-wearing in the areas where I tend to get oily (forehead and nose). Still, I think it’s worth checking out!
Amazing! Thank you for adding swatches of different intensity, this is so helpful! I’m eyeing these DM Color fix tubes! I’d love to do a mono look with a shade similar to Bobbi Brown Telluride (my recent fave, thanks to your other video which I have watched oh so many times! ❤️). Maybe DM Color fix in Brownie would be similar 🥰
Great video as usual! I m a little scared of the color fix foils , for mee too much pigment is a bit scary and makes me think i will need a palette and / or multiple times of swatch cleaning from fingers. How one does use those deep brown colors on the eye which is a small area? Bases for a smokey eye? Whith the whole mask situation i m tempted to do more impactful makeup on the eyes
Thank you for posting again Matilda! I have the worst week and my anxiety has been awful but your videos are so happy and relaxing and you’ve Made my week so much better

I love this but my heart honestly goes out to these wonderful woman cause they really would have suffered in the industry to become the amazing brands they’ve become today. I can’t wait to purchase some of these products!
Thank you! I'd say those products are polar opposites - Cloud Paint is a cream blush with a light texture, sheer (but buildable) colour and a reasonably dewy finish on the skin. The ColorFix tubes have a thicker texture than that, they're insanely pigmented, dry down to be completely matte and they're designed to multitask 🎨 x
I always try to watch your videos when I have enough time to thoroughly absorb every last detail! Thank you for all the wonderful background information and awesome swatches!! I’ve definitely moved towards less, multi-use products over the last couple of years thanks to your influence. xoxo 😻

Thank You for these videos I really enjoy them and help me figure out which shades to get I’m definitely getting the Red Color fix to use with my eyes and lips I like a vibrant red lippie and something that won’t budge.
Hi Matilda you're one of my trusted make up reviewers on TH-cam. I'm looking for a good tinted sunscreen, can u do a video about the best Tinted sunscreens?
Thank you Alyca! I don't use any tinted sunscreens - you need to apply a teaspoon of sunscreen to properly protect your face and neck (then reapply every 2 hours), so that would be *extremely* heavy coverage if the sunscreen was tinted. Think of applying a full teaspoon of your foundation or tinted moisturiser - that's far more coverage than most people want! Best to use a regular sunscreen and apply your makeup on top 👍☀️ x
Hi Matilda! I love your videos so much and they definitely calm me down at some of my points of high anxiety! I'm glad you're featuring Black owned brands 😊 I just wanted to let you know (and I'm not sure if someone already commented this so I'm sorry if they did!) that as a college student with an Africana Studies minor, I've learned that Igbo is pronounced "EE-b-oh" rather than "ig-boh" or "EEG-boh". Even google has this wrong so just thought I would let you know. Stay wonderful! x 💗
Thank you so much Cecilia! So nice to hear my videos are able to help in any way ☺️ Ooh no, unfortunately I didn't realise that - I looked it up online to make sure I got the pronunciation right but sadly Google misled me! Appreciate you passing this on x
*_still hoping that the black-owned cosmetic brands shoulda been add some specific yet matchable skin color type for all women of all colors including Filipinos too_*
Many Black-owned brands are incredibly inclusive and cater to all skin tones - UOMA Beauty has the most extensive foundation range I've *ever* seen! 👍 I mention in the video that there are 51 shades, from very fair to very deep x
Love your videos! I Read reviews about the DM colorfix drying down in the tube in a couple of months , makes me a little nervous. It’s such an amazing product i really get bummed when I read bad reviews about it
Danessa Myricks quickly moved to the top of my wishlist. Multi-use products are my absolute favorites.

@@matildaonvideo omg I didn't expect you'll reply! But thank you for the answer Matilda! You're the best xo
