    Palagi Bride Linda Aii suprises Samoan Husband Layton by doing a Siva Samoa.
    When I heard of Linda’s story, how her dance is self taught and she hand picked the song from endless watching of TH-cam clips, I had to do a little something special for her intro.
    I felt pride in the effort that one takes to learn and be expressive in our culture to do it right and to make sure that she would give it justice is inspirational.
    Linda did it from the heart and doing it whole heartedly made her glow!
    Malo lava Linda ♥️

    It always warms and melts my heart to see a person from a totally different culture or race wants to learn our dance. Its really a nice feeling to see them doing it and appreciate it. I was married to a palagi too and he loves my culture as much as he loves me...🥰

    She did a great job. It’s disappointing to see that a lot of people had just walked away. The point of an aiuli is to ensure that the Taupou is the Centre of attention. They could’ve at least stayed for her whole performance otherwise why bother? That to me was disrespectful.

      It’s cray , the culture is becoming more extinct to our Samoans . The traditional siva is lacking smh !! The groom didn’t even know how to siva !

    • @lindaaii5446
      @lindaaii5446 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ufaa Yessda for starters please do not attack the groom. You do not know what one the groom is most people get it wrong. It was an extremely special moment that happened that night it’s a shame that this special dance is being taken away by some rude comments.

    • @ufaayessda4478
      @ufaayessda4478 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Linda Chalwell , I Am a true blooded Samoan . Our culture represents strong men who embody the “ Sogaimiti “ we embrace the siva as much as the Taupou , ( The bride ) The Man is suppose to slap the floors , present pride in his wife . Celebrate the culture .

    • @ufaayessda4478
      @ufaayessda4478 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Linda Chalwell The groom is in fact Samoan . It is not a hate statement nor a negative comment . Just a disappointed Polynesian

      @lindaaii5446 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ufaa Yessda i know that the groom is Samoan as I am the one in the video doing the siva for him who he had actually no idea it was being done I just do not appreciate hate in any form towards him. I get you got disappointed in him but is it so bad that he wanted to be just in the moment then sit and watch his new wife.

    How beautiful & poignant. Very subtle, however, it's deeply meaningful. Their ancient culture binds the love & souls of everyone. Something, everyone can take lessons from. Blessings on the couple's life together. Blessings, on the ancestors, who came before. And, blessings, on those, who will come after. Thank you, for sharing with the world.

    Kalofae! Great taumafai and job well done. Always a joy watching other people that are married into Samoans embraced our culture.
    I for one marries to a palagi who loves and embraced our culture and way of life to a certain degree. My only complaint and I guess a lot of other people will agree with me is......Why are those Samoans just sits and watch instead of supporting her and where are money, money, money during a taualuga? So sad when she went out of comfort zone to actually put on a tuiga and all of that for people just to watch on. Even those who got up went pack before it was finished.

    I'm guessing the groom is the Samoan? Where the heck was he? He should've been the first one on the floor to aiaiuli for his beautiful bride. And I didn't see a single dollar on the floor. The bride did an amazing job with her taualuga. But the Samoans that were present were such a disappointment man.

    Linda made an amazing effort to immerse herself in groom's culture by dancing the siva taupou. The groom should've been on that floor immediately as aiuli to support her. And those lousy Samoans should have stayed up and supported her siva until it was done. Except for the lady in red who supported Linda the whole time, bravo to you. Only one aiuli left at the end of the siva was insulting and embarrassing. Malo Linda.
