Grew up just up the hill from the pier. I could easily walk to it from our house. I and my siblings have been going there since we were babies, and our parents and grandparents, and even one set of great grandparents, before us. Now the fifth generation of my family has been going there. Thanks for the show. I've walked this so many times.
I grew up in the Redondo Beach area during the 50’s and 60’s. I feel very nostalgic about the pier area. I live in Murrieta California now and miss Redondo. Thanks for an arm chair tour.
looking back in 2003, my uncle Stanley ( deceased ) took me here. it was my first time to see Pelicans. my first time to try buttered lobster. the best ever! thank you so much! you are the best!
WOW, i practically grew up on that beach. This pier used to be so nice, Tony's restaurant with the beautiful view while u eat and as i got older their strong drinks. There used to be a great pizza place upstairs with the best shrimp pizza.
Ironically enough, this is the perfect time to visit the Redondo Beach Pier; not crazy crowded and you could actually enjoy the scenery, and explore the shops and the restaurants without having to crawl over people. Great tour. 👍🏻
You forgot to mention this Pier ist famous for „The O.C.“. That was the main reason to put it on our list when me and my girlfriend visited California in 2019. We ate breakfast at the bait shop and there even is a picture hanging on the wall with autographs of the cast of The O.C. 🙂 Thank you for your videos! We always watch them and will use them for an upcoming post-pandemic Las Vegas Trip. Best
ALL THE GREAT BARS, RESTAURANTS, MUSIC VENUES IN SOUTH BAY, SO MUCH FUN FOR US, OVER THE YEARS.THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. THE LIGHT HOUSE IS AWESOME, GREAT JAZZ, NOT FAR AWAY.
So Nice to take a mini holliday without leaving the house!!!! And absolutely when is is snowing outside, cold and wet in The Netherlands! Love your video's
Hi Chris. What a very unique pier. I like the wide and open space in the center area. It looks like a great place to enjoy the view. Thanks for sharing.
I really appreciate these pier tours! I dont think you appreciate what a cold winter day is. Yesterday it was a real feel of 1 degrees here! So I appreciate seeing sun which if I am stuck in NY I wont see it until at least May! Thanks again!
Grew up 2-miles away, used to arrive at 4:00am, fishing for halibut, but usually many barracudas, sculpin, occasional sand sharks. My aunts boyfriend was owner of Tony's in late 60's-early 70's, Steak, lobster tails, salads off the charts. Parking very good designated structure, well planned for volume summer time visitors. It's above average pier, used to be kids places for pop corn, cotton candy galore. Very family oriented for most part pier.
Would just like to add: Redondo Beach Pier is known the world over. It is 1 of the 1st. stops for many visitors. Original Tony's on the pier has been there forever.
I'm a big fan of piers and what a great narrated walking tour! Thanks for the tidbits and interesting history. Love the idea of eating fresh seafood by the ocean:)
i feel like im on vacation back home watching your videos,, u really do a first class job , up beat , energy ,,, love it!...........how safe is parking ? from theft etc?
in the late '60's - early 70's that pier would be loaded with fishermen catching halibut. it was pretty good fishing. It's all Fished out now, practically nothing left to catch. I can hardly believe the hot dog on a stick is still there!
@@YellowProductions You’re welcome keep making those good videos not just with images but with all that great info.. Always good to know all those little details about places most people don’t know

@@YellowProductions Not really! I am a New Yorker. Only the tourists traps are expensive here! NYC is one of the cheapest places you can eat in the US!

For sure! It is nice without the crowds. Probably not great for the businesses.. but the parking is easy now :)
I love Redondo beach 😍😍😍
I’m here everyday 👌😇
Redondo beach/pier is so underrated

This is fascinating. I have never heard of an "endless" pier before. Looks like a cool place to walk and dine. Thanks for introducing us to this pier!

My hometown!
One of the most awesome place I've ever been for over a month
I miss Hot Dog On A Stick... They’re one of my favorites
Yeah.. too bad they've disappeared from most places
Craig's Hot Dog On A Stick is still there. I went to the pier last week and it's still there😊 + I think there is still one in the Galleria Mall

The pier used to be called Horseshoe Pier. Guess they changed it after the last fire.

I'd say Quality Seafood is "OK" -- not amazing.. just OK. I prefer Santa Monica Seafood in Santa Monica

Hey! Would you say this town is more conservative or liberal? Looking to move either here or Huntington Beach from Toronto. Thanks for your videos!
Huntington Beach I'd say is more conservative than Redondo Beach.. if that's what you're asking :)
small soup, $36 ?? 8:31
Any way you can do a video for Santa Barbara? My fiancée and I are going there soon for our honeymoon?
Hi misfits.. when we visit again we will.. not sure I'll have a video before you go though!
Where can I purchase a Chris Raney Bobble Head?

The developers were shut down... couldn't build a mall. So instead they built a mall without a roof and called it a Pier
