The tax on unrealized gains is already happening , look at your property taxes! It’s taxed on assessed value not what you paid but what they think it’s worth NOW.
that's the point, you have not yet paid for the Profit you made from when you bought the house to now, yes you pay on the evaluation, but now you will have to pay profit tax on the difference between evaluation and purchase price AS WELL......

It took a month but I just watched all 181 videos with Tim! I am behind on a few of my other favorite channels now along with my reading but I learned a wealth of information from Tim and enjoyed every minute of the viewing. Tim is such a wise man. It reminds me of the old EF Hutton commercials. When Tim talks.... people listen. I agree with him on so many things. One thing he said in this video which really rang true to me, to paraphrase him, capitalism has been perverted. The example he gave of selling paper silver that doesn't exist succinctly backs that up.

If it does, my 1st move under her regime will be to sell everything I have in paper investments and move everything to cash and gold.
There is NO WAY at all that investing will survive as a viable way to make money with her stupid tax on unrealized capital gains.
Even our homes might be part of this unrealized capital gains nonsense. If so, then selling that and buying an older motor home

Hi folks, I'm about to invest at 7 leverage on gold and 3 on silver... I've already invested in physical gold and silver, but I also want to buy certificates, even though I know that the leverage effect shouldn't be used in the long term... what is your opinion?
the deal is if you put unrealized gains on huge portfolios it would destroy the 200 day moving average , and sure small trader wont be taxed, but they make enough to justify the risk of having money in the market over night and damage volume and volatility for day trading , not sure how much but it would reduce returns across the board for everyone
We need to pass the "line item veto", but with constitutional standards (vetoed items/lines go back to congress for 2/3 over-ride vote just like any other bill). From what I've read, that would withstand a constitutional challenge as it meets the same standard and does not tilt the balance of the co-equal branches of government like the original line item veto did.
Another way to curb pork is single issue bills.

Property taxes are calculated backwards. The recipients of the tax dollars go to the assessor and say what amount they need the taxes to produce. Then the "comparables" are rigged to generate that number. It's a compounding problem, as house values are assessed higher and higher.

The National Association of Letter Carriers (mail carriers) just endorsed Harris. Vote in person, either early voting or on election day. Don't use a mail-in ballot. Don't give them a chance to "lose" your mail-in ballot!

Bullion coins are usually worth more when you go to sell them.
Love collecting precious metals but if “Gold” hits 3k oz than I’m out and not buying anymore. Too much at that point to keep buying. My break with silver will be 50oz.
