    This is AWESOME! I recently changed the plugs in my wife's 2009 and saw oil in the wells..crap! Well, after watching this I'm NOT going to take it to the shop, this one I'm gonna do myself, thanks to YOU! This is the kinda videos that ALL mechanics need to make, clear, simple and most importantly...to the point! I've watched some vids and they make it seem like....man, I do NOT want to attempt that, but not yours! Thanks for making this AND doing a GREAT job at it too!!

      @@s33therfan You're welcome. When I say I've watched a LOT of diy mechanic videos, well I can't count them all. This blows ALL of them out of the water. Keep on doing what you're doing it's helping a LOT of folks save time AND money!

    Greatest thing about your vid is that you don’t skip a single thing nor do you miss the chance to describe everything about what you’re doing.
    Your vid saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you bud.

    Excellent one handed video!!! LOL. Great detailed walk-through. I have a 2006 Escape hybrid (160+k miles) that has the same issue (oil in 2 of the spark plug compartments) and I now feel very confident in tackling this. I've not done value covers before so this has been a huge help. Thanks again.

    I got the same problem with my 2009 mercury mariner . I was driving and smelt oil burning and I know this car doesn’t leak underneath. Low and behold I opened the hood and at the back of the valve cover I see oil. Thank you for the video and your help!

    Man thanks so much for the detailed video. I’m a licensed electrician so I’m pretty handy with tools and multiple parts, but I’m far from a mechanic but watching your video makes me feel confident enough to replace my 2007 Ford Escape XLT valve cover gasket. I recently purchased the small suv for $2000 with 120k miles. Very minor leak. But I’ve also got a belt squeak that only happens upon starting and goes away after letting it run for about 3-7 minutes. What do you recommend to stop the noise

    Doing this same job on an 2007 mariner with same engine. Pulled it apart so far and just waiting on the gasket. Also pulled 02 sensors. Both mine were bad due to the oil leaking down into them.

    My 2008 xlt have oil on the spark plugs. It start shaking, feel like it’s dragging, and accelerate slow after the car warms up. It went away after I changed the spark plugs and the oil drained down. But 2 weeks later it started doing it again

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your spark plugs and gaskets are all good that should keep the oil out of them. I would move on to the coil packs . Thanks for watching.

    Why mechanics I talked to don't wanna do this? It doesn't seem so hard but they said these changes often fail. Everyone suggested me to buy a new engine so far. As someone who doesn't know anything about cars and engines, I am afraid of changing this myself.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  ปีที่แล้ว

      The valve cover gasket is a very simple process , however a head gasket is a whole different story. Thank you for the feedback.

    • @ccdj35
      @ccdj35 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@s33therfan my friend told me it was head gasket but maybe it is called valve gasket? The issue is same as yours. The oil fills in the spark plugs. Is there a way for me to understand which one it is?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is the valve cover gasket , the seals around the spark plug wells are leaking. It is a pretty easy fix , and not expensive. Thanks for the feedback.

    Hi there. Do you know location for PCV Valve..or can you make a video on it please. Thanks

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is under the intake and not real easy to get access to. You have remove the intake and pull it back out of the way. The pcv will be held on top of the crank case vent oil seperator. You have push in on 2 tabs to remove the pcv . Pick tools work great. Hope this helps . Thanks for watching.
