I see they basis of a few other song lyrics in this, but this song in it's released form is my all time favorite from the cure, with poetry just as beautiful that pairs better with the tempo and arrangement. Just like many of the other demo songs, the iterations that occur throughout the writing process are captivating.

i just found a hidden gem....and its flawless
Holy fuck. It's 'A Few Hours After This' but it's not. It's love-driven and a great wall of sound like the other one, but in place of the orchestral-emotional squeeze, it's almost effervescent. So interesting to see how Smith changed the characterization of this song.

For me this is better than the final version. The orchestral instrumental in the latter overwhelms the song and messes up the flow.

Looking at the lyrics I think this is another version for "Screw" -- but "Screw" got this version of "A Few Hours After This"s place and the other version, too.

a few hours after this is my favourite Cure song mainly because it is so not The Cure like but so The Cure for that reason. Never heard this version and again so totally different. did they ever turn these lyrics into another song?

It's a demo it's cool but it's in no way better than the finished material. The lyrics are clearly improvised and unfinished.
