    you left out that it can also be used to wrap small shtf electronics (radio/light)for emp protection... i think. would it work?

      +joash480 You're talking about a Faraday Cage. The cool thing about metals is that if you have an electrical field outside a hollow, enclosed piece of metal, there won't be any electrical field inside the metal container. The trick is (1) remembering to insulate the inside of the metal container, and (2) making sure that the metal is continuously enclosing the inner space (it has to connect completely). The purpose of the insulation is so your electronics don't end up being part of the metal outer shell, which will still have electricity flowing through it from the E-field.
      As an example, you could take an old metal trash can, insulate the inside with rubber, wood, foam, or some other material to keep your stored items from touching the wall, and then close the lid on top with some foil (or even foil tape) at the seam where the lid meets the can to make sure they're touching and completely enclosing the inside (no gaps).
      Metal ammo cans are also good options (my older brother made such a Faraday Cage for my prepper mom for mother's day). You just need to insulate it and make sure the metal connection is good.

      Carson Rush Well the thing is i'm on a very tight budget considering I don't have a job right now and my family doesn't really support my idea if prepping. Now what I did is this, wrapped it with a regular plastic food wrap batteries and antenna no attached but wrapped together. Then I wrapped it with foil like the outer wrap of a burrito then taped it with aluminum tape. would that work? I'm not sure if it would since I just rapped it all with the batteries removed.

    One usage that was missed in this video was that if you wrap cotton (or other kinds of tinder) in aluminum foil and put them in fire, the tinder inside the metal will become charcoal (or even char-cloth, if you use cotton T-shirt). This can latter be used as a very easy to light piece of tinder. So the idea is that you prepare for your next fire by making some charcoal at this one, and then the next one will be much easier. Wrapping the tinder in foil cuts of oxygen, which makes the burning incomplete and prepares it to burn better later.

      It’s spelled aluminum, not aluminium. Your title needs correcting

    • @mrsbojangles1330
      @mrsbojangles1330 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lisa Wade Actually Lisa, it is spelled both ways: in the USA = aluminum, and in the UK = aluminium, hence the different pronunciation. I am not sure how this came about, but I once read it had something to do with the race between the US and Europe to get the stuff marketed.

    • @rayc1503
      @rayc1503 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lisatwade since 'Aluminium' was first established for use in Denmark which is part of Europe. Oh yeah, and it was pronounced 'Aluminium' which is the correct way. Just like 'solder' is for 'solidify' not 'sodder' or 'Z' for 'zero zebra' not zeeero or zeeebra, get it right. Please stop bastardising our Latin English language.

    One you missed that I like is if you are missing a 3rd battery in a flashlight or if you need a D cell, but you only have an A cell, you can roll up a ball of foil to fill the void and make it tough the contacts. Works great in a pinch. Oh, and making a cup out of it, but that's pretty obvious. Thanks for the great channel Don!

    you can make a cup with foil you can use it to drink or to boil water you can put wire on the edge and hang it over fire there are videos about it on youtube.
    you can use the foil to make char cloth in a pinch is not going to be as good as regular char cloth but if you don't have a small tin can, this can work, you put the material inside the foil like you did to protected from water, and make a little hole and put it in the fire and turn it in like 2 minutes.
    AlfieAesthetics made a video showing what you can use to make char cloth (with a tin). you can use so many thing, i think not a lot people know abot this What else can you Char? Beyond Charcloth

    For your dryer lint (or other dry item), instead of crinkling the foil up, lay it flat, place your stuff in the middle, lift the two long ends up together and roll them three or more turns (just like a dry bag), take each side and roll it in three or more times. Not 100% waterproof, but pretty danged close.

    I am not sure what other type of fish bite foil, but I know it works like a charm with bream. Truth be told, I have seen bream caught on nothing more than a shiny hook. I was on boat with a friend and he lost his hook and wound up with a birdsnest in his reel at the same time. He put a new hook on and while he was working on the tangle the hook went into the water. After a moment he felt a tug and lifted up a small bream that had grabbed the shiny hook with no bait on it.
