OKAY SO, this week I was feeling very inspired by "Spider-Man 2" on PS5, and the absolute best skin in the entire game: The Bodega Cat Skin. After admiring it throughout the entire game, I thought: Hey... why don't I make my own? AND SO HERE WE ARE. Nick and I are going to be attending a video game convention in spring so I thought it would be very fitting for him to wear this little guy.
Just a pure (or purr... am i right) passion project and I had so much ding dang fun. I just love... LITTLE GUYZ. And making them move!! Lol

I subscribed to Rachel when she was doing 1940s hair styles and unboxing vintage jewelry, and here we are today, engineering moving props and mechanical dresses, and we didn't even realize how it happened. Rachel is smooth, she lured us all in, guys 😂 Lady, you're incredible!
I know, right. We came for the vintage, we stayed for the engineering. As a Doctor Who fan and cosplayer myself tho, I'm 100% percent on this.

Once I got this suit in the game, I refused to play in any other suit as Miles. And I legitimately squealed out of pure joy when I discovered that the cat participated in the finishers, with "meow" sounds added and all. Amazing.
I bet the fans would have liked Miles' questionably-designed, Adidas-sponsored final suit a whole lot more if it had just included the cat in the backpack. Haha.
I like how Rachel made the puppet watch his brother getting dismembered and flayed
This kitty upstages Spider Man in EVERY cutscene and fight - even swats at the bad guys. My husband and I were laughing at the second game’s finale as we watched Spider Cat swat and do adorable stuff.

*Game spoiler ahead* I had this skin on during the symbiotes fight at city hall. It totally took the tension out of the cut scene when they're being overwhelmed and buried and then the cat just popped out whilst everyone was screaming. Makes every cinematic hilarious and cuts all tension

I wonder if sewing a base layer with felt sheets could cut down on some of the stabbing for you in the future, and give it something to anchor against

Cat owner+fellow crafter here--if you make a mark II, try to make him smaller. Most cat heads are only around 4-6 inches in diameter, including short fur.
In the meantime, while you're retooling the arms, it might sell the realism more if the paws are slightly curled in a swiping pose, engineering permitting. Then if someone gets close at the con, Spidercat can take a playful swipe at them. Hope you have fun at Pax! I always look forward to seeing your videos!

Rachael’s creature shop- exactly what I needed after a long day of tacky-ifying my small blue house into a gingerbread candy house just in time for our small town parade….that happens to start…right in front of my driveway lol. I’m blocked in and can’t go anywhere so might as well join ‘em 😂. I even played classic retro Christmas music for all the kiddies who were having a hard time waiting on their floats lol. Our neighbors saw us cracking ass and joined in putting their lights up way too early too 😂. But I’m stiff as hell and needed my pumpkin blanket and a glass of wine and a serious creature build video! (It’s like she KNOWS 😳) ♥️ from California! I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

can I really recommend a turkey carver for cutting foam, its so much quicker and neater. not sure how much they cost but they'll revolutionised your foam carving x

I have a quick question/suggestion to maybe help with your airbrush dilema. Do you strain your inks when filling your airbrush? Dollightful mentioned in a recent video that this helped with clogging for her airbrush so I thought this might be helpful!

Also, I don't know if you could use it to help with what you have already done (unless you did an overhaul), but look up WET FELTING. It's taking wool batting, a bit of soap, water and a sheet of bubble wrap and you felt sheets of wool with friction, that you can then cut up, needle felt, paint etc... folks make 3D sculptures with it!

If you'd like more grip on your spandex gloves, put some dots of hot glue on the places you want grip. It's obviously not forever, but it works in a pinch.

Oh my goodness - I would FREAK if I saw this at a con! Well, I did see a spidey-cat backpack at SacAnime this summer, but it didn't move like your does, but was still adorable, and I did, in fact, freak out. Ha! I cosplay Spider-Verse Aunt May and I would definitely want to stop for photos! LOVE this so much. Wool felting, Spider-Man/Spider-Verse, game, movie, love love love. How weird would it be if Aunt May had a spidey-cat backpack? Hmmm. Possible addition for SacAnime Winter 2024???
