Having been here for 6+ years the thing stands out most for me is how no one seems to be shamed for being different. Being a life long Freak ( Other than the norm ) this hits home with me. I like to sing, no one cares if I suck. Having spent most of my life in America to see people allowed to be who they want to be even from an early age, means so much to me . I love this place, the people, the culture. My life is here now, I'm old, I'll die here, my Filipina wife will be holding my hand.

Finn, you are a giant among men. You heart is too full to hide & I thank Sherlyn for helping you to be more comfortable expressing your emotions. It is a peeling away of the shell that reveals a persons real self. It does not make us weak, it shows our strength to carry on, even though some things still humble us and bring us to our knees at times. It is one our knees that we pray and are given the strength to stand again.
This story brought tears to my eyes. Yes you are a good person. Thank you for all the good you do. Stay humble you guys and you will be forever loved by many!

There's already another vlogger out there who just copied Finn's "Take poor kids to Jolibee" idea. I say it's okay to copy a good deed, but I wish he would give Finn credit, and acknowledge whom he got the idea from.
When you asked why the boy wasn't eating his food and he replied so that he can bring the food back home to his family is a common endearing Filipino trait. When you put someone else's needs above your own, it's true love my friend.
Just like the OFWs , they sacrifice a lot by being away from their loved ones for years in order to give them comfortable lives.
This is priceless!
You forgot to mention one more: yourself. You allowed yourself to be changed by my country, the Philippines. And I thank you for that.

Yes Finn, you are correct. Filipinos are the friendliest people in the world. I visited in 2004, 2005, and 2006 and discovered that about them. My situation has prevented me from returning, but I always dream of returning and visiting old friends.

Filipinos can’t live without family..most of us we sacrificed a lot for family..I spent 23 abroad for family..sometimes we forget ourselves and sacrifice personal happiness and be selfless for family.

It is a beautiful part of Filipino family culture. They look out for each other in every way. In my wife's family, when food is brought into the house, it is not eaten until everyone is present and they eat together. Think of it as braiding twine into rope- coming together is what makes them strong and resilient.

Yes bro. When I try to tell people what it is about the Philippines that has my heart. They just don't get it. And that is why I decided to start my channel. My PC crashed 4 months ago and I have been waiting for my pension so I can fix it. I got my ticket finally, for November, and I will have my laptop soon and all the gear I can get for my trip there and I to want to show everyone why the Philippines people are in my heart. Thank you. I did not know what I lost when I left Philippines for the United States. "That changes you" indeed is more what I lost than what I have growing up. Now I know why Filipinos worldwide work hard. Their dreams fulfilled after getting that retirement and going back as Kings and Queens in the Philippines and still humble.

I guess travel in general and experiencing another culture gives you a different perspective in life. Makes you appreciate and compare the little things. Some if not most of our local people dont even get the chance to travel and visit other places in our own country because they are bound by responsibilities and worst, poverty.

I just realized that I’ve been following you this long cause I’ve seen all your 7 videos that you’ve mentioned. The Philippines had changed you because you’ve come to realized how lucky you are compared to these people who have nothing but at the same time amazed that these kids are happier with what they have. They are happy even when they’re just playing with marbles or empty caps of bottles. It gives you a different perspective in life. You hear people being depressed and suicidal when they’re unable to cope up with their lives. But these poor people who have little things in their life are the happiest. Watching you talk about this made me teary eyed. You and kulas are my favorite vloggers because you’re both sincere and simple and always find the heart of the people you’ve met.
Just watched this now and i can see how big an effect our daily lives and culture has had on you. You're right, this is just what we are, we may be a poor country and people but what we have in terms of our welcoming culture, family values, hospitality and caring for others is something that i am truly proud of. This makes me teary eyed.. I can feel for the local boys bringing their food to their family. I am a member of a civic group here in Los Baños and when we had our feeding program, the kids asked for plastic bags too. We let them eat first and packed what's left of the food for them to bring home to their family...
