The Best Aquarium Air Pump | Tetra Whisper 100

The best aquarium air pump depends on your situation. What type of aquarium air pump matters also on your situation. For the average aquarist, I feel that the Tetra Whisper 40 or 100 is a great option for powering one tank or multiple tanks. It has served me well, is quiet, and haven't had any issues with it after a year of use. This air pump in conjunction with the gang valves makes it unnecessary to have an adjustable air pump like the old Q2 that I had.

Can you talk about Venturi and what determines how much water is moved/pulled by the air pump? e.g. if air pump is rated .5 LPM does that mean it's moving .5 LPM of water?

From my understanding in order to have a venturi air powered system you need some very high pressure air and a large volume, something that you won't find with aquarium air pumps.
If you know of something different, I'd love to hear about it.

Is that first tank the Marineland 27g cube? If so I have one as well. My only issue is how easily the current moves because of the footprint, I have my output less than half

Yes that is a Marineland 27 Gallon cube. I also don’t necessarily like the flow pattern in the tank. I wanted a larger cube aquarium but this was the only one I could find locally that’s was used and of reasonable price.
