As per my experience, Women are misusing this Shakti Scheme. For Example, few days before I boarded KSRTC bus which was overcrowded and jam packed with Women. I was also standing still in between them. Again, another bus came next to our bus and Women started deboarding immediately after seeing that bus which was to the same destination. Here most of them had already bought free tickets from the bus conductor, deboarded. As if their rules and wish. This makes it difficult for the genuine people who commute.

The same old "rob the middle class and finance the poor" . With the current capacity of buses available with KSRTC, it seems to me they are overburdened. Buses are loaded beyond capacity, compromising safety, no space for regular ticket buying passengers, poorly maintained buses, drivers themselves say that issues in buses are reported but seldom resolved by the depot unless its a major overhaul. The tickets of premium buses are all time high, they are also poorly maintained. Ultimately, Money has to flow from somewhere to finance such dubious schemes.

Long distance travel should be charged. It costs lot of money to the tax payer to maintain such schemes. Why not invest that money to improve passenger amenities and greenify the transport.

Dear Ms. Jahnavi, I appreciate your coverage of this important topic, I would like to offer some constructive feedback to enhance the quality of your reporting.
Firstly, it's essential to include a balanced perspective in your reporting. The article seemed to focus solely on the benefits to women, but it failed to mention the financial implications on the bus service, KSRTC, which is crucial to understanding the broader impact of the scheme.
Additionally, interviewing individuals who are not receiving free tickets under this scheme would provide a more comprehensive view of public opinion and any potential concerns or criticisms about the initiative.
Lastly, addressing questions to the transportation minister regarding how the government plans to address the deficit in collected revenues and the deterioration of service quality would add depth and credibility to your reporting.
I believe that by incorporating these suggestions, your reporting can become more well-rounded and insightful. It's vital for your career as a journalist to maintain a reputation for balanced and thorough reporting.
Thank you for your dedication to your work, and I look forward to viewing more of your reports in the future.

The thing with free schemes, it consumes the valuable time of more productive workers by increasing the travelling time. Time is something which is more valuable for the working class. Instead of making the public transportation robust, accessible to all and time friendly, the govt choosed a freebie scheme, not saying it is not benefitting people but killing the opportunity for the future as it will result in lack of revenue.

While one would be happy that this has benefitted few poor people, but the price being paid for it is too high! This is not only true for the public, but also for bmtc and ksrtc. Bus availability, reliability and hygiene are more important than free tickets. Good bus network and efficiency would have been a better win-win for the government and public! Osho Rajneesh on politicians
politics attracts only the most mediocre minds in the world. It does not attract Albert Einsteins, Bertrand Russells, Jean-Paul Sartres, Rabindranath Tagores... No, it attracts a certain kind of people. Psychologists are aware of the fact that people who are suffering from some inferiority complex are the people to be attracted towards politics, because politics can give them power. And through power they can convince themselves and others that they are not inferior, that they are not mediocre.
But just attaining power makes no difference to their intelligence. So the whole world is ruled by mediocre people when we have a large number of intelligent people -- scientists, artists, musicians, poets, dancers, painters -- all kinds of sensitive, creative people, the very cream of humanity, but they are not in power. They can change the whole fabric of human history, they can change the darkness of the future into a beautiful morning, a sunrise. But the misfortune is that power is in the hands of the wrong people, and the people of intelligence are devoid of power.
