No rap crew will ever repeat what the WU did.
Took over the whole rap game in 2 years.
And their impact is still felt.
@RobbingHoodUK some of them did have their paperwork in order when they signed their solo deals RZA, Method Man, Ghostface, Raekwon from all accounts weren't being bled dry the others that's a different story some of which had to do with RZA.

@SapioWizard _ It was punk rock but we'll all say you remember when we were all rebelious what happened.
I remember it was a summer of 94 night and a tropical storm was passing through here in VA and I was up late watching tv with my pops. I was flipping through channels and pops fell asleep. I turned it to MTV and Yo MTV Raps was on! Oh snap! It was probably a rerun episode of what they showed earlier in the day. As I watched the episode this video came on and I just remember just how good of a time these days were. While the video was playing I looked back and pops was sleep. Well pops is gone now, but every time I see this video it reminds me of that night. Pops RIP!

where is anyone bummed? you're the one that seems salty LOL, 90s hip hop shits all over Drake and everything you idolise, problem?
RZA killed this beat 🔥🔥🔥🔥
We gotta give full credit to The Rza for being the brains and vision behind the creation of Wu-Tang. He created a group that perfectly blended hardcore boom-bap, eastcoast rap with street consciousness on a level not seen before and that hasn't been duplicated since. The Wu spoke to children in the ghetto, mostly Black male adolescent teens and young adults growing up in poverty and facing tremendous adversity in a post Reagan, Bush Sr. - Clinton era of American politics, a time when high homicide rates, poverty, hopelessness, and resource deprivation characterized life for people in underprivileged, economically challenged communities.

It's because the "Good ol days" don't actually exist. It's just a combination of remembering the good, forgetting the bad, and nostalgia.
You can undeniably hear the hunger in their voices. One of the many things that made their music so compelling
Yea mon!

One of the most simplest but hard beats ever made. I was born in 1999 but man I can say there was no era like the 80’s-90’s.. the hip hop culture.. the music, movies and sports was wayyy better than nowadays.

One of the greatest samples ever....PERIOD!!!!
@ray brooks Sample here was from *"The Way We Were" by Gladys Knight and The Pips* .. RZA change the whole hip hop production game by the way of a certain abandon of Funk samples , replacing them with *dramatic old Soul and film soundtracks* sampling.
This and "This is how we chill - Souls of mischief" I call it magic music because we appreciated it more. No TH-cam, Apple Music, or other apps. We had to wait to hear it on the radio, so songs were more appreciated!
Míster Funke was nothin wrong with funk. That was a west coast thing. Dre was dominating the game
I’m 56 and still rockin Wu Tang because they the greatest ✊🏿🥷🏿
"The glorious days are gone..."-Ghostface (1993) He felt like the good days were in the past but now it's 30 years later we're watching this video full of nostalgia and feeling like the days he wrote that bar were the glory days and get emotional at the reality that they gone forever.
Need to put into account that the early curtis blow days were the OG´s of hip hop. People nowadys forget that what we consider the golden age today (mid - late 90s) wouldn´t have been possible without major records labels - apart from the underground flicks. Boombap Rap was "the thing" back then to what auto tune and mumble rap is today, so everybody did it or tried to. It was the mainstream rap so ghostface refering to the glorious days meant the true street-born, young black youth fighting against the opressing of white establishment of the military industrial complex of america selling out the country and more so it´s people (espacially african american) - stomp them down. These people voiced their opinion beginng late 70s through out the 80s which then led to the 90s - the golden age. After that it lost it´s meaning, true essence and became a genre just like rock, house and what not and has been sold out. Nevertheless you have to dig today as you had to back then to fight the true gems. They´re outthere and are worth to be noticed by us.
@@wackrapsatire I speaking more about life in general during that time period as opposed to Hip Hop. Many feel like those were the best years for many reasons and Hip Hop just so happens to be one reason among many.

G this shit right here is heavy

RZA was a mastermind when it came to beats back then. He was hungry.
Beats like this are why RZA's in my top 5 producers tbh. He could not only flip samples, chop them and mash them to death to make signature grimy Wu tracks like Protect Ya Neck but he also knew when to let a sample breathe like he does on this song. Knowing when to let a sample breathe is the difference between just a beatmaker and a producer and RZA is one of the best producers out here
You telling me Kanye wasn’t inspired by this beat? Rza been putting in work for years - under-rated legend👊
He said he was.
Oliver Taban don’t compare to legends, just enjoy their work
@Oliver Taban he don’t even make music like this no more he lost what he had

"Because I find myself in a place where I'm last seen" ... everyone goes through something in life sometimes BUT EVERYTIME I hear Ghostface Killah say that part, it makes me cry inside. WU TANG FOREVER
What do you mean?
Tough up soft ass lil boy 😂🤣
@@user-xb9wo5me9ksince he didnt respond imma try to phrase this as best as i can because that line always gets me too.. in the previous lines Ghost was talking about what he wants for himself. Dreams & ambitions. However, as hard as he's trying to get there, he's still in the same place he's been and hasn't made the progress he hoped for. It could also be a double-entendre meaning that this same place he's stuck in helps him "find himself" so that he can grow and succeed. This is probably my favorite Ghostface verse of all time and it always makes me feel some type of way.
