That said, it's still very possible to fit very meaty brakes in 17 inch wheels. 6 piston fixed calipers with floating thick vented and grooved disks should be plenty even for a Dakar Rally racer.
These 17" clear the new Tundra, new Sequoia, 2024 GX550, 2024 Tacoma and 2024 Land Cruiser. Pretty much all those platforms are shared drivetrain components.
