What is the dead pool option about?

You need a Damage of at least 700. That will cost you alot. So first try to accumulate the point that's what matters. Get to at least 1b. Then you can start upgrading Firearms.

You have to upgrade Your Firearms in Lab. When you do that. You start killing those enemies from wave 16 above
