Hi Chris, GREAT REVIEW! Thank you so much for doing this. Your reviews are always thoughtful, thorough, informative, candid, and enjoyable! Thank you for all you do ! Your friend, David
Thank you for this extremely informative review. I got the leather version last month. Although at some point I might use it the classic way-- I have just been using the inner wallet and carrying that inner smaller wallet around for walk around. I do a MCF and use the smaller wallet for a reveal. The leather really is top notch. Thanks so much.
Great review and very informative, you touch on every point. Still waiting for mine to arrive ( genuine leather) the size and style of the wallet doesn't bother me and also don't think people will care much for it, unless it clashs too much with your style, that may cause some suspicion that it's a magic prop. Keep up the great work 👍 Best of regards
Thank you so much! I totally agree on the style and size it doesn’t bother me either. Everyone has different preferences. I prefer billfold wallets over minimalist wallets.. that’s different than most people, and it’s the honest truth. I very rarely will ever carry and minimalist wallet. I just don’t like them. So who’s the say someone shouldn’t be carrying this style of wallet either.
@@ChrisEdwardsMagicJust an update on the wallet, it arrived today and it's awesome. Size wise it's, now that I have it in front of me, it's bit smaller than I expected(it's shorter than my smartphone 😅 and wider by an inch) brilliant, and the quality is top notch 👍 Best of regards Ezequiel
@ezequiel_reis awesome to hear! Glad you like it. Yeah the quality is the best I’ve seen. This wallet is better than 98% of my other wallets and on equal to that remaining 2%. It’s so good. Thanks for the update my friend!!
I had and still have one of the first 100 Tom Mullica wallets made. It even came with numbered instructions. Mine was 80 something. Unfortunately when my basement flooded years ago these instructions were lost. Watching your review it looks like this hip wallet is wider than the original. Is that true or just an illusion? I do like the zipper feature. One trap people fall into, which was also noticeable on the sales demo, while reaching for the card people, including myself, have a tendency to push the card out with your holding hand as reaching for it. An excellent review, thanks for taking the time.
Thank you! As far as width goes, I don’t think it is wider. I will have to grab my original Mullica and check. When I am loading the wallet I basically do a top change, but instead of a single card I’m holding the wallet and I transfer the deck, haha. I don’t push the card out until it’s covered by the wallet though.
I just got compared the new to the original and they are pretty much the exact same width. The new hip pocket is actually only about an inch shorter in length. But the one thing I didn’t realize until after playing with this new one was how stiff the original is. The new versions inner wallet also slides out much, much, smoother and easier. I would say overall it’s a definite improvement on every level.
Thanks for taking the time to reply, it’s definitely appreciated. If you would like I’ll put a very short video together with subtleties I came up with through the years. I’ll throw it on TH-cam. In a private link and you can check it out. I think you’ll get a kick out of them. It’s just my way of saying thank you for what you do.
It’s not showing the comment you made about putting the video together. I would love to check it out. If you have a chance could you email the link to chrisedwardsmagic@hotmail.com
Ive been doing magic for years but have never looked into wallets so Im new to this magic wallet stuff. What wallets would you recommend for everyday carry but it can do a little bit everything?
The Orphic plus by the 1914! Great peek, great card to wallet, and great switch (that can also be used as a type of index for 6 outs). The tutorial is also very good and covers a lot of great material.
I'm confused, as both Penguin & Vanishing Inc carry the 'Hip Pocket Mullica Wallet', BUT one is by Tim Trono & the other is by Paul Harris. They look identical in the photos. Is there any difference between the two besides the slight variations in price?
I don’t own the one by Paul Harris so I can’t speak on that one unfortunately. As far as I know the Paul Harris one is out of stock and no longer being made but I’m not 100% sure.

Warning to all- the fake leather one is a gigantic piece of junk. Totally unusable cause it’s sticky and the move cannot be accomplished. Nic Lacopo says the fake one is excellent and function is identical. Nic is full of shit on this one which surprised me cause usually he’s very credible. He probably never even tried it. he should go online and apologize for misleading people.
the method is cool but the design of the wallet doesn't resemble anything a modern man would carry. i dont think any high end leather manufacturers make a wallet for men that looks anything like this. nor does the "wallet inside a wallet" design exist. i like that it's more modern looking than the original mullica wallet release. but it still needs work on the design.
Yeah I think it should have been a couple inches shorter. As far as it not looking like other wallets, that part doesn’t bother me. It’s not normal for lay people to carry decks of cards, sponge balls, coins of other currencies, billets, and plenty of other things we as magicians and mentalists carry to entertain people. I think if people are being entertained they aren’t concerned about whether or not it’s a wallet like theirs or anyone else’s. That’s just my thoughts, but it’s personal preference and I don’t disagree with anything you said.
Nice review
Thank you! Sorry I haven’t been getting notifications from this app I’m not sure what’s going on so I’m seeing this late.
Awesome review Chris 🤜🤛👍👍👊👊💛

Anytime my friend, you’re welcome! Thanks for the comment. I also considered just carrying around the smaller wallet too.
It looks so big with all with all your stuff inside, it looks like you could have a whole deck of cards in there. It is a great CTW though.
Haha yeah I hear you. The only card to wallet for me now is the Jol plus wallet small soft leather.
Great review and very informative, you touch on every point.

@joelbears2303 in my experience, fake leather is always junk and if it’s not real I don’t bother.
