I have this 5-CD set, and it is documented that these are true NASA recordings from the Voyager spacecraft. Released in the early 1990s on Laserlite, it is explained that the audio frequencies were produced from transponders onboard. Though they could not be "heard" in space, the frequencies are exactly as received, which of course can be perceived in our atmosphere from loudspeakers. Whether enhancement such as echo, reverberation, or looping may have been employed is not mentioned, but all frequencies are within our audio perception. Many are the result of planetary plasma interaction of the solar wind with respect to the planets' unique magnetic fields.

"1. interaction of the solar wind with the planet's magnetosphere, which releases charged ionic particles within a vibration frequency in an audible range (20-20,000 Hz).
    2. magnetosphere itself. The Earth recordings are like hearing the northern lights!
    3. trapped radio waves bouncing between the planet and the inner surface of it's atmosphere.
4.electromagnetic field noise within space itself.
    5. charged particle interactions of the planet, it's satellites and the solar wind."

This is actually the recording of Jupiter’s enormous magnetosphere when Voyager 1 & Voyager 2 reached their first destination to Jupiter in January 1979 and May 1979

Let's say you took a radio up with you you'd hear the same sounds as they are heard here. Planets that were filmed are: "Earth, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. Also included are the moons IO and Miranda, and rings of planets Saturn and Jupiter." Sounds are produced from various sources, some are mechanical sounds of small dust scraping on the hull which isn't stated down there, but main responsible ones are:

Music is a fusion of different frequencies, when the manufacturer puts together the songs they get a beautiful harmony where we will award the best music.
Why not say there is only one frequency?
Now you think there's as large as a galaxy of beautiful symphony that reflects the extraordinary power
Producer and regulatory Creator that all galaxies and the Earth and life on it.

It's electromagnetic radiation emitted from various planets, converted into sound energy through the use of satellites.

I don't thnk there is any part to human additions. From what I understand, the RF signals are not a constant strength signal like what humans can generate for our applications. The variations in the RF signal is what is in the range that has a variation which is recorded. since the range of variations happen to be in the audible range, we can listen to it.

nasaspacesounds and a dot and a com
Due to multiple tracks being made it's hard to discern exactly which ones belong to Voyager, especially because the only direct mention of the mission the sounds are taken from are stated for Earth (missions: INJUN 1, HAWKEYE, IMP1 and ISEE 1). These are frequency audible sounds only. From the recordings only the 20 to 20k Hz frequency range was kept. Due to lack of medium the sound waves aren't mechanical but EM waves and couldn't be heard directly. radio?

Is there any info on how EXACTLY the electromagnetic waves have been converted into sound? I mean to what extend have the frequencies been changed so that they are in the audible range of the human ear? What I wonder is, how much of the aesthetics of the sounds are actually human made.

I hate to ruin the fun, BUT!: " NASA had nothing to do with these recordings. The original version of these were produced by a chiropractor, Jeffrey Thompson, who was interested in marketing "therapeutic audio" through his company Brain/Mind Research. He obtained recordings that were publicly available from the Voyager PWS (plasma wave) researchers, and some of these were likely mixed into his products. However, the final results sound essentially nothing like the original natural signals. Of course there is nothing wrong with using these public domain data in creative works, but it was more than a little misleading to suggest that they represented the unmodified Voyager plasma wave recordings.
A complete set of the natural Voyager data converted to audio files is available on the web from the PWS research team at The University of Iowa. The unmodified Voyager audio occurs in 48-second segments that are quite a challenge to sift through to find interesting bits. The natural audio tends to be far less interesting, less soothing, and less marketable than these products.
There's nothing wrong with these creative works, inspired by and maybe even containing some of our plasma wave data, but, no, the planets do not emit meditation music."

On a serious note, it would be rather disappointing if these were just "scam" ambient inventions.

At best, they're "artistic impressions" of the Voyager plasma wave recordings, unfortunately they sound absolutely nothing like them.

    • @yungsloth8336
      @yungsloth8336 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Minesplorer [WARNING: SPACE NERD] Let's start with the basic information: What you are hearing (the recording) are the sounds of many different celestial bodies' radio emissions. Now then, why do these celestial bodies emit radio signals? This is a side effect of them being warm either or receiving heat from local stars. Now for the specifics: When warm surrounding particles (around celestial bodies) become charged particles (electrically charged). These charged particles will surround a celestial body because of it's magnetosphere, keeping it within a range depending on it's heat. So now this explains why a star would be very active in radio frequencies.
So, now for a story of how all this was discovered. This started when the Voyager Two satellite passed by Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus in the early nineteen-nineties. Soon the probe picked up electromagnetic disturbances, not actual sound. After recording this data it was soon sent back to NASA to be discovered and soon released to the public. After this discovery many other records were made recording the frequencies of other planets.
To sum this up no, this definitely was not made by some scammer with ambiance and if it was a can guarantee it wouldn't sound as cool as a symphony of electromagnetic waves would :3
P.S. Dude, work on that joke man... It wasn't too punny. D:

This is the product of human imagination and not a recording of natural signals, so I suppose the intersection with religion is apt.
