If earth stops rotating, sir said right 6 months will be day and 6 months will be night. Most of the people taking the example of moon and earth but they are forgetting that moon is a spinning object. The time taken by the moon to rotate on its axis is the same as the time taken by the moon to rotate once around the earth. So, sir was right. Moreover, the effect of gravity on latitudes will vanish. You will have same weight at any part of the earth ( Whether it will be equator or pole). Coriolis force will vanish, so river flowing and wind flowing patterns will be changed drastically because of which climate will be changed drastically. We will be driven off towards east due to sudden stoppage of rotation of earth. Natural disasters will destroy the earth completely.

Don't Blame sir for not telling us that we will be pushed in the east direction. Sir is now 72 years old and his brain will not work as well as it did in his youth.

There is two types of acceleration first is centripetal which makes earth revolve and second one is tangential acceleration which decides to earth rotate about its axis actually acceleration tangential is equal to velocity tangential/radius.
