Loved this Stephie! I like the fact that you don't cover all the sounds of the town, your boots walking or the little mumblings with music, made it more real somehow. Hubby, little pug and I are doing ODT North to South in three stints and have finished stage 2 at Kington last week. Glad to have found you on YT x
Thank you 😊 I hope you're enjoying the trail, it's definitely one of my favourites, a wonderful experience. I've never hiked a trail in both a heatwave and torrential rain before - fingers crossed you've at least had some sunshine and clear views! I'm trying to figure out if you'll have done the Brecon Beacons yet? (My brain won't go into reverse 🤣) If not I really hope you get some clear skies then because the views are superb. Do you know when you'll do your final section?

Really enjoyed the watch , such a positive attitude..you sure got lucky with the weather till the last day , we have walked the early part in a series of roundish walk , but not with a pack like yours, must get back and do some more ..
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, thank you :) It's a great trail isn't it, I hope you can get back on it soon - and I look forward to posting part 2 of this video in the near future and maybe inspiring you!
Loved watching this, Stephie. It's been 11 years since I did ODT and I felt like I was with you every step of the way. Really enjoy hearing and seeing your perspective on the walk. Thank you! I'm looking forward to watching Pt 2! 💚💙
I can't believe it's been 11 years Zoe, I remember you talking about it as if it were yesterday - but I walked it in September 2021 and that feels like yesterday too! I'm planning to do the short section between Welshpool and Knighton again this year when I hike Glyndwrs Way (to make it a circular hike) and I'm keeping my fingers crossed the Offa's Dyke Centre will be open this time. Did you manage to visit it? I thought it sounded fascinating. Love to you and Mike xxx
@@stephie_10milehike yes I did pop into the centre... I think! 🤔 I met another lady and walked with her for a few days and I think I met her outside the visitor centre. I'll have to check my journal to see what happened around that... memories are a bit sketchy. 🤪 Hugs from us both. Xx
That was superb Stephie - all the way through my back yard so to speak. I know the trails well - it was good to see you enjoy the path all the way through the Wye Valley, Black Mountains and beyond. I see you pitched below the Hay Bluff with the North West Scarp of the Black Mountains to your front - a favorite view of mine I reckon. Hay looked beautiful as ever - well you got another fave view of mine there - yeah that's a good one from the bench. Some good camps but a poor Knighton. Great stuff. All the best. Mark
Thanks Mark, that's really kind - it's certainly a very beautiful trail. After I published it I realised it sounded like I thought Knighton was pretty dreadful, but I meant the cafe! The town felt economically depressed, but it was at the tail end of Covid so I guess that's no surprise. The scenery and woodlands roundabout were gorgeous. And I think the Offa's Dyke Centre may have been going through a refurbishment - I was gutted as I'd been really looking forward to it! Still, I'll get to try again this year when I hike Glyndwrs Way which starts in Knighton, as I'm sure you know. I'm going to make it a circular hike and re-walk a small stretch of ODP from Welshpool back to Knighton too - very exciting! Thanks again Mark :)
@@stephie_10milehike A pleasure Stephie - ha yeah it did sound like that. Which cafe? I was on Glyndwrs Way last year heading for the source of the river Lugg (check the video out it will inform you of the area and the river, which you pass by - it's called: 13 Mile Hike In & Camp On The Glyndwr's Way - River Lugg Explore P1) I think you'll enjoy it. Anyhow my cafe was nice 'Tower House Galley.' Hope you catch it better next time and the center. Well, you and me both - I'm back on the way this year for more miles of it - hope you have a great one. Looking forward to the next ODP video. Hope you can comment on my vid there - be great to hear from you. Peace - have a great week ahead.

That's fantastic. Did you enjoy Montgomery - I thought it was really beautiful, and it's where I heard the first Welsh speakers 😊
