    Barry have you tried putting your bucket flat and extending your stick out a little more? I use to jump curbs with a 450 JD. It would help to slide the bucket when traveling over the curb, Still kind of spooky break some curb boss might get hot. Love your videos man. Im trying to get out of road biz and in to pipeline

      +dgwelcher.that sounds like it would work but in this case the ditch side that i was jumping from was already ripped so when i lifted my track the other one sank down in the muskeg because the frost was broken up.i had to use my teeth to pull myself across the pipe.i probably should not have even tried.

    How does a guy get on the pipeline? I've been running hoe and dozer on and off for around 25 years and they won't take me in pipeline because I've never worked on pipeline! So how does a guy get started. If I got a season under my belt I'd be laughing after that. Your videos are great for the terminology and the expectations. I m a finishing operator but I'm also pretty fast, so know I can cut it.

      Did you ever get on

      @@nnoffuture never managed to get on no. The last year I was in Canada I could have gotten in with an old crew that I'd worked with in Anzac . Foreman there got a foremen gig on pipeline and rang me. Unfortunately I was moving back to Ireland. Miss the work life in Canada.

    would b easier if u put the track parallel to the pipe

    • @master_vator
      @master_vator 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dhanraj Mohabir no, you have to have that odd angle..hard to explain without doing it..

    • @dhanrajmohabir8305
      @dhanrajmohabir8305 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      well that's how I do it. For me, its easier and faster.

    • @manhoer
      @manhoer  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dhanraj Mohabir yes that works to but in this case the ground was to soft,and the dozer had already ripped the frost so I could not pull myself straight sideways.when I lifted my track the other one sank in the muskeg so I had to walk the hoe over hence the funny angle.

    Just get yourself a cheap tripod from Staples or Walmart when you have the chance that's what I did.

    Hey Barry jumping the pipe was awesome but if you have a chance can you do it again with somebody filming from the outside. That would be great. Thanks for all the great footage its been super helpful!

      No it doesn't only do it if you have to

  • @christiansanchez6751
    @christiansanchez6751 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s easier if you get parallel with the line and put your bucket ahead of the way your going I do it all the time and it’s way easier being parallel with the line

    The video camera should have been placed outside to get a better view of operation.

    Well done, that can't be easy.
    Would it been easier to put a tree on the other side, use your bucket to lift the front end, walk as far as you can past the pipe then lift and walk?
    The tree, as long as its thick enough, would keep you off the pipe. Would it not?

    • @manhoer
      @manhoer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's just the way I learned but try the other method and let me know how it works
