Blue lock is a good anime , it’s a good shonen, but it’s not a good football anime it’s more like football Naruto where as Aoashi takes it being about football seriously I have friends who don’t watch football that enjoy bluelock but they can’t get into aoashi, there’s a reason for that, you need love of the sport to truly appreciate it, it’s miles better than bluelock , but if bluelock gets more Japanese youths into the sport thus making their national team better I have no complaints, not Japanese myself but always like seeing their national team succeed
Ao Ashi is definitely better as a sports anime, but Blue Lock is better entertainment. The reason it's so popular is the stakes and each individual egotistical character. Now if Blue Lock ALSO had the technicality that Ao Ashi had, then it'd be goated.
I mean ofc, Blue Lock is like a mix of MHA and Soccer so it’s obvious that this type of soccer is unnatural but the intensity and entertainment is there
