How to pace yourself for 100 unbroken burpees (follow along)

  • This video is intended to help people execute 100 unbroken burpees with good form. Lately I have been seeing really sloppy 100 burpee videos, that Is NOT the standard. Follow me through this clip of a 100. Great for those who want a sub 8 min pace.

What I want everyone to take away from this video is quality over quantity, yes I could go much faster and I could speed through 100 Burpee’s in around five minutes but the quality of the movement starts to disappear and it looks like fluff. This is around a sub eight minute pace with a really good quality Burpees.

100 4 pumps in 21 minutes ? Great work man, that's an awesome time. I stopped for a few months but now I started again and I can do 60 x 4 pumps in 40 mins. After that my muscles fail, so I go to failure. That was a few days ago, the last time I did that. So I might get a higher result today (aiming to get to 70 x 4 pumps, as quick as possible. Hopefully in like 30 mins, but I wouldn't even mind 40 mins.

I'm a burpee noob to. My advice is to get an interval timer, I downloaded one of the google play store and set it at a pace you can maintain. Initially I did 50, took a 1 or 2 minute break then do another 50. Now I can do 100 straight with 8 seconds of rest between each one. Depending on your situation you can either increase how many to do or decrease the time between each one.

Hey, thank you for inspiration and showcasing your knowledge Iron Wolf! I started to do 30 days 100 burpee challenge. I already made through the day 16. Hardest part is to wake up and do it first thing in the morning, before anything else, but after I do them I feel so much better. It's really the mental thing that is the hardest part for me, to dedicate myself for it every morning. When I started I had to spend over 20 mins to finish all 100, but after about two weeks I'm done in about 13-14 minutes. First few days I had so much pain in muscles all over my body, but it went away completely after first week. I feel like it works shoulder and triceps muscles the most, I'm not so sure about chest, maybe more of the upper chest than the rest. Maybe doing wider pushups with burpees will hit more of the middle and lower chest? Or I need to do something else for that? Appreciate what you do!

"Good warm-up ?!! ;-) Today I managed (as a 64 year old), 100 burpees in 9 minutes 30 seconds...I used a 2,4, 6, 8 ascending pyramid count technique...felt psychologically much more motivating to do sets of 20 like this (then repeat 4x)? For conditioning, I also like to do dynamic total body extensions? This is where you start standing, then crouch down into a deep squat, then finish by standing up and jumping with arms overhead (bit like a vertical burpee)..it's also quite a heartbeat raiser. Btw Unless there's something wrong with my calculations, in your video 1m 44 to 8m 45 is pretty much 7 minutes (not '"8 minutes and some change')?

I am far away from 100 unbroken burpees. Takes about 11 min for me to get to 100.
But I will get there. Still training. Got some ring pushups with burpees as superset in, to work on that shoulder stability.

What do you think about the jump at the end of the Burpee? I always do one, but it takes a lot of time.

There are plenty of variations of the burpee. I personally do not like the jump. I alternate with opposite knee to opposite elbow or maybe a jumping jack. Or do that wolf does & go straight up and down, without the jump

The jump does expend more energy, making it harder. But, it's also harder on the hips and knees joints..., imagine the jumping and landing 100 times over and over again, there's wear and tear on the knees and especially if you're past 40 years old, your asking for injury
