It's not the s2-6 TV version but an extremely similar, extended rendition, using as I understand it, much of the same orchestra, and is the official release of the theme from the era. Considering some of the other official releases of TV themes, which are complete re-recordings and sound very little like their TV version ('The A-Team', 'Miami Vice', so many more), this is actually not far off from the TV version. It wasn't uncommon for 12" versions such as this to alter the tempo and to stick a load of filler in the middle.

The chase scenes were the best! The funky music would start as a 70’s American sedan makes a break for it, in all its body-roll and tire-hop glory.
Used to watch this show with my grandpa when I was little. He used to point out all the places he'd been by in his days as a trucker :)
