Great video, just a few pointers for anyone looking to get the MHI AC:
    1. Most important - Vacuum your copper lines before you cycle the gas in the system for the first time. The vacuum pump is to be connected to the lines and run for 20-25 mins, until the pressure shows zero on the pressure meter - hold this vacuum for 20 mins to ensure that there is no leak in the line. - almost 99% of all Residential AC Installation personnel skip this most crucial step.
    2. Use high quality copper for the high pressure lines - the ones with smaller diameter - Mandev and not cheaper unbranded copper
    3. PCB drives fail on all machines - even the most robust TRANE, Daikin, BlueStar etc. try not to run the machine more than 12-14 hours a day if your cooling load is really high - i.e. compressor is running continuously at peak performance - measure with ammeter
    4. Size AC as per cooling needs - inverter ACs are not ideal where there is a very high cooling load due to ambient and external factors - like lots of glass area, or the room is on the top floor etc. Provision for the extra cooling capacity ideally.

Your honesty in sharing your disappointing coupled with your fair assessment have helped me immensely in decision-making on ACs as well. Keep your videos coming. At the end of the day it seems as if there are some loose ends in the MHI way of addressing matters that seem to undercut its own commitment to engineering excellence.

I am also experiencing something along these lines. I had bought 3 ton MHI inverter ACs. One of them jas stopped cooling. When contacted the dealer, he didn't respond for 2 days as he said he had no staff. When finally the staff arrived, he didn't even care to touch the AC and said that the cooling coil is gone and it will cost ke like 20k, with no warranty of functioning. He also said that his boss is a scammer and he personally threw away like 5 ACs this week because "MHI has this problem and is a shit product" he said. Then this worker went on to say me that I should buy a different AC from the firm he has already set up 😂. Idk what to do, I'll probably have to bring a non official expert to check out the problem. That dude literally told me to put my AC in trash 🗑️
I personally think the lack of refrigerant is the problem. This video has me convinced that I should get a second person to do this.
    It's a shame really

Never buy brands which depend on local harami dealers for service. That's why I always buy LG or Daikin which have a good market share and network. Anyways, do check your AC with an independent technician, it's probably a gas leak in the pipe.

This is the problem with every company in India.. SHODDY Technicians who first do not install the AC with proper care & leave important steps. Then if there is a problem then mishandle the issue & the product itself like its trash & has no value.... They do not care how you spent your hard earned money to get a good product which is priced at a premium compared to other brands....
Then the common thread is they badmouth inverter AC's & still want customers to buy non inverters only. The world has moved on to Inverter AC's but these people refuse to learn & move o this new technology which is now almost over a decade old in India. Had this experience with ~5-6 AC' techs & authorized Daikin technicians as well....
The inverter AC has more electronic components & sensors for the working of the AC for which they need to learn how to find faults using Ampere meter & multi meter on the PCB to pinpoint the specific component which is not working but they simply have one response for every electronic problem.. PCB is gone & need replacement. Maybe its a scam run by the companies to get more money from customers but this is only an assumption on my part. Maybe these technicians are so lazy that they refuse to learn & move on to Inverter AC's repair properly & will continue to do so for the next 5 10 years till the companies are forced to stop making Non Inverter AC's in India by BEE...

IAPL group is basically an importer with no technical expertise. This is bad enough but God help you if you need a replacement part given that MHI AC division is not present in India. If you insist on buying Mitsubishi I think Mitsubishi Electric is a much better buy at least you get Mitsubishi Group warranty and authorized service.

    • @ikshitness
      @ikshitness ปีที่แล้ว

That is not the case. I have both ACs installed at my home. Mitsubishi Electric has also outsourced it’s installation to third party. It is pretty much upto the installer on what quality of service it intends to provide whilst try to find the balance between workload and manpower.
Overall, I am satisfied with both the installations.
MHI (non inverter) AC have higher air flow, slightly lower power consumption and higher capacity compressor. Hence, the slight premium over ME.
If you have a service center in your city, do visit them and they’ll clear all your doubts regarding MHI ac.
If you don’t have MHI service center, go for ME.
Even OGeneral’s service reputation isn’t great at many places. It’s hit or miss.

Hardware wise the MHI is in a different league, much better than the LG. However LG provides piping with the AC and have company technicians install everything. LG 2 Ton ACs are only 3 star and they don’t go bigger than 2 ton. In terms of inverter and non inverter, I prefer inverter ACs for their much lower consumption and slow spooling compressors. A large number of people have warned that they can suffer PCB issues. Between my 4 inverter ACs (LG, Panasonic, MHI) none has had that thankfully as yet. So my recommendation would be as follows: if the AC needs to operate in very harsh conditions and high temperatures, go with the MHI, if the area is not that large and is not directly exposed to the sun, go with the LG. Hope this helps.

  • @djnickandre

Most technicians advice to stay away from inverter acs cause of few reasons.
Pcbs are more on inverter acs all inverter acs which ever brand has two or more pcbs.
Old school acs also used pcbs but inverters have more microcontrollers and require more knowledge to repair.
Most of these techs are untrained to follow procedure.
When regasing you need to remove all the gas, add nitrogen and do a leak test then pull a deep
Vacuum and monitor for vacuum drop which can show leakage. You also need to add the gas only by weight which none of them do and they always use pressure method some may say 120 some 140 some even less it’s hard to get the right pressure in any mini split more so inverter. They find it will give an issue and always blame inverter ac.
Brazing they should’ve cleaned the copper portion before brazing else that weld will come off later.
They do not follow the Torque spec for tightening the flare (pipe connection) plus they also use Teflon tape which many manufacturers say never use.
Most of these techs also ruin the ac.
I’ve got about 4 Mhi acs inverter and non inverter. The oldest one is an inverter and after about 14/15 years gave its first issue.

Like I said in the video, this is just my personal experience at the one-year mark. This does not necessarily represent everyone’s experience. And the part that failed was not provided by Mitsubishi, the piping, which was supplied by the dealer. So the hardware itself is solid, you must ensure that the installation is 100%. Unfortunately or fortunately I report about products as I experience them, without any filters. So yes I would still recommend MHI.

This is J. Durga Prasad from Hyderabad. Recently I have purchased Mitsubishi Heavy Industries 1.3 TR Split AC 3 Star Non-Inverter Hybrid Model No: SRK15CXS-W6 for my living room in my Apartment flat. Five days back it was installed and is working fine. Now I would like to register the product with IAPL group as a part of warranty policy. In the blank warranty card which came along with AC packing, there is a column regarding "Compressor Number" in addition to Serial Nos and Model Nos of IDU & ODU. Service totally denied to pay the cost and also had the audacity to say we will take the AC with us, to which i replied let me call the police, and only then they were scared. in the end I had to shell out 8000 rupees for new motherboard.

It’s impossible for gas to mix with air, especially everyday. It takes a few seconds for the gas to leak out and then the AC will not cool. I think perhaps your issue is related to dry air directed towards your face… which may cause dryness in the eyes?

It is always better to buy a fixed speed non inverter AC which is actually comparable to a 3 star AC. These are robust .There are no hassles and have a solid life. the service and spare parts costs are very low. It is better to actually buy 2nos. Of 1 ton non inverter ACs instead of a single 2 ton inverter AC. The evaporator and condenser sizes do not scale linearly with capacity in a 2 ton AC. So having 2nos. 1 ton AC is much better as the surface area of evaporator and condenser is much much higher . This itself would give higher efficiency.

      4) Compressor now getting switched off after 5-8 mins of operation.
Been waiting for parts since 28th Apr 2022 & still its not available.

Indian service mens are never properly trained even the ones certified from lg or others do not know basic stuff have no brain to think about it they just follow like a 3yo learning abcd. I have 10ac & 5 of them are inverter, 1 of them is 22yo. I take the free installation from dealer but when they come to install i supervise their work. Not a single one of them ever pulls a vacuum, i have my own equipment to do this before opening the valves, most of them will do the pipe on right side and put the flare nuts out side which makes repair & maintenance unnecessarily complected, most of them do not use a spring or proper pipe bending tool (which i guess your installation guys did not do & that's how they cracked the bends when cleaning the ac) .
I have 4 pannasonic ones in my restaurant & not a single one has failed in last 5yrs of daily use. I clean them every 6m cus they get a lot of oil & dirt. Inverter or non inverter is not the issue. Proper preventative maintenance & knowing your stuff is the issue. I have never seen a single indian service men as good as the ones we see in other countries. Indian ones do not even know how the thing works & so they take hours of fiddling to find any fault. Lg ones are pretty crap too.

Sorry but this install is done poorly: as per mhi instructions a pressure test needs to be performed before releasing the gas, this was not performed during initial install and with the repair. Also, when welding the line they should used backflowgas inside the line. Otherwise you get soot inside the machine. It looks like your line was to short from the beginning… R32 gas has a higher operating pressure than your previous units. This higher pressure will show faulty installations sooner, eg leaking gas. The machine was leaking from the start, considering you lost all the gas on a short line within a short periode of time or during the service a leak was created 😢
