Some people 18years old+, coming overseas to establish and working doesn't know who were the music band called 'The Beatles'. You've never seen it all. I haven't saw independence day 1995, the day camp proposed that movie, or some other stuff, that was when everyone knew Green Day at the very least, and music on tapes was the regular thing, best sound for heavy+.
You mean some people UNDER the age of 18 don’t know The Beatles? Because I would think any people who DO know of them would likely be 18+, though probably not all, as you said… and what did you mean by “the day camp proposed that movie”? 🤔
What do you mean the truth? People are saying it's not real and you can't find anything on it besides Jurassic park fanfiction. So, is this the Cocos Islands? Or can you help clarify anything since your a Costa Rican citizen?
@@missjddrage1111 the movie he's talking about is Jurassic Park hahah, it was shot in Hawaii. The islands are Sorna and Nublar which don't exist, but would be near Coco's Island
Between this and coverage of the Amity Island incident, I'm glad someone is covering lesser known disasters. You'd think a Spielberg documentary would bring more attention to these tragedies, but most people who've heard of them seem to think they were hoaxes.
I'm still waiting for coverage of the flight to Chicago where the pilots ate fish and got poisoned and the only person that could land the plane was a passenger with a serious drinking problem.
I urge people to look into this story further. The Isla Nublar incident has been connected with several subsequent tragedies, including a series of deadly animal attacks in San Diego in 1997. It's a terrifying rabbit hole of corporate manslaughter, and it's something we should all be talking about.
Have you heard the rumors around Isla Sorna? I know everyone believes it to be a conspiracy theory but why wouldn't another company try to salvage the tech? It's not like they told the truth at all with the whole debacle so why believe them now?
Most people just believe the standard line we've all been fed about Hurricane Clarissa causing a systems outage at the park which allowed the dinosaurs to run amok on the island. But I had some high level contacts at InGen who told me the true story about Dennis Nedry and Lewis Dodgson of BioSyn conspiring to smuggle fertilized dinosaur embryos off the island using the hurricane as cover. Mr. Nedry screwed up, it all went sideways, and that's the REAL reason we all know about the Isla Nublar incident today.
It's clear that corners were cut, despite the claims that no expense had been spared. But I feel that the lax safety standards were reflective of the wider culture within InGen, from staff on the ground to research and development. I seem to recall one of the consultants after the event stating that they company was more preoccupied with whether they could [create something without thinking the consequences through] than whether they should.
If you really want to find the truth of what happened, if you want to dig down into that rabbit hole, Google a company called BioSyn and their chief geneticist, one Lewis Dodgson. I think you'll find that what really happened on that day in November 1990 isn't exactly what we've been told. They told the public it was a systems failure due to Hurricane Clarissa, but the truth? It was a case of industrial espionage gone wrong.
@@screwthecabal6453 As a Costa Rican I can confirm , back in 1993 my uncle was part of a group of 11 paramedics hired by InGen when he was called to attend this infamous T-Rex attack , he and 4 more refused to attend the incident and stayed in San jose , Costa Rica.
I was just listening to this while at work, and I was like “why does this sound like the plot of Jurassic Park” and then I opened the video and saw it was indeed, Jurassic park. I love how well you are able to make this sound so real!!
I can't believe a guy who claimed to "spare no expense" employed only a single man to design and oversee the entire computer security system. The worst thing is how avoidable this tragedy was.
And then refused to give him a raise, which led to the whole 'malfunction' in the first place. So yeah, spared no expense except for cheaping out on the programmers contract. Poor Newman, he died broke, nothing but a can of shaving cream to his name.
If you really pay attention, the “spared no expense” thing is a recurring lie in the movie. He underpays Nedry, doesn’t put locks on the car doors, puts poisonous plants out among the animals because they “look good”, breeds dangerous animals with no thoughts of containment (and when he gets them contained, they’re in a way that no visitor can observe them), has his genetics teams cavalierly gene-splice animals with no thought to the ramifications, the whole thing is a shitshow
You realize this is an April Fool’s joke right? It’s about Jurassic Park. He did it last year as well with Jaws & made it look like a real event. For a minute I forgot it was April 1 & was amazed that Jurassic Park was based on a real story. Ha. Then, I quickly remembered the date & the Amity Bay Shark Attack story. 😂
@@b-dub6865 Absolutely, we were playing along. Kind of as if it were a real event, what would have actually caused the problem. The programmer that screwed the computer is the same actor that played Newman on Seinfeld. That's why I called him Newman.
I heard they set a special scholarship in your uncle’s name at his law school. Not sure why it was set up to give preference to those hoping to become patent lawyers working with ceramic engineers, though.
They really don't do him respect in the fantastical representations of the event 🙄 your family should sue for defamation, especially since media makes light of his corpse
The role of the scientists in this disaster can't be understated. They were so preoccupied with whether or not they _could,_ they didn't stop to think if they _should._
I recall hearing something about that back in the 90's. Although it was tragic for those involved, it's a fascinating story. I'm surprised someone hasn't made a movie of it.
@@alexmartin3143 Hard to believe things could get out of hand like this. But the errors and bad judgment were obvious, as themocaw below has well pointed out.
@@azmike3572 I dunno. That old saying about reality being stranger than fiction comes to mind. If they made a movie of it people would say it's too far fetched.

"Spiel-burgers"? I almost fell over laughing! You sir, deserve the TH-cam equivalent of an Emmy for managing to inject so many puns into this whilst doing it in your usual calm, informative narrative style. Bravo!
Yes, I’m gonna have to go back and listen to it again knowing it is a joke. I kept thinking the entire time, “Jurassic park was based on a true story???”😮😳😱🤭🤷🏻♀️
One of the biggest corporate scandals in recent history, good to see that someone is finally exposing this. Although there was a far better documentary about this released in theaters back in the early 90s.
@red_array you’re a few dinosaurs short in the northern enclosure aren’t you pal? 99.9% of viewers: Play along with the production. red_array: gets all triggered and offended like one of the fictional characters was a family member and screams “OMG, IT’S NOT REAL” 🤬 Me, the .1%: 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 No shit it’s not real 🤦♂️ Bet you’re fun on Christmas morning, Easter time or when a child loses a tooth. 👏🙄
Referring to them as “rare birds and lizards” is probably the funniest part because of how much more legitimate it makes this video sound. You have your video format/presenting style so nailed down that it took me a bit to realise this was an April’s Fools video 😂 not gonna lie I’d actually really enjoy a side channel that uses this channel’s video format to cover fictional events like this!
Other than disaster movies (like Towering Inferno), I'm trying to think of other fictional events that would me fun to cover like this. In terms of larger scale stuff, for natural disasters there is the Ulysses Meteor Strike from Ace Combat, for manmade could be Operation British in Gundam. For smaller scale, horror movies could work (Friday the 13th, Final Destination), but in terms of more unique options could be stuff like classic and popular literature (Sleey Hollow, Metamorphosis, Watchmen) or again cheesier media (The Fly, a Bond villain plot, Disaster Report, etc.)
The narrator overlooked one of the most egregious safety violations that caused the visitors to be put in such a predicament, and that was the lack of locks on the touring vehicles to prevent guests from exiting. In fact, there were so many safety violations that I have to wonder if this was an elaborate insurance scam and the park was designed to fail.
Frankly, the park shouldn't have had so few employees overseeing the park. Or the IT person should have been paid more to ensure that he wouldn't be so burned out or susceptible to bribes from rival corporations. Nedry did NOTHING wrong!!!
So I didn’t know this was a prank: after the synopsis; I said to myself “I wonder if this is where they got the idea for Jurassic Park.” You definitely had me going!
The disregard for people's safety in this incident is truly a tragedy... I saw it coming right from the beginning! I hope this video stays up for a long time to raise awareness. These deaths must be cherished and remembered
I read an interview with a an American doctor working in Costa Rica who cared for one of the workmen from Isla Nublar who had supposedly been run over by a backhoe. The doctor was quoted as saying that the incident much more closely resembled an animal attack than an industrial accident however the crew boss , some guy named Ed Regis, was being very paranoid and vague about what actually happened. The doctor tried to take pictures of the wounds for reference but found her camera missing after the ingen employees left. Very fishy.
@@sclarin2 if you think that's fishy you should try to Google this event the government has taken great measures to cover this up. Last I heard some macabre investor was wanting to open a theme park type place on the island SMH what's next Chernobyl land?
Yeah, I don't know a single person who hasn't seen this documentary. It was really groundbreaking since all the graphics in it were created by Industrial Light and Magic. The thing won an Oscar that year for best visual effects, the first time it was ever awarded to a documentary.
Ehhh I thought Spielberg's take was unnecessarily over-the-top. I mean how can we possibly know what really happened to Nedry? There were no witnesses. It seems unrealistic that he was that bad of a guy. Maybe he was set up?
.... This is the most professionally done April Fools joke I have seen. ... You should make this a series actually. No, I'm serious. I'd love to see your take on other movies as well. This is amazing.

This was a brilliant recap an event that had a huge impact on my life as a former zookeeper and current biology educator, and I am glad that you are bringing this tragedy back to public attention after being ignored for so long! I plan to use your video as a case study on genetics, biotechnology, and bioethics in my classes. Thanks for such a detailed report - Never Forget Isla Nublar!!
I'm surprised this story didn't receive the mass media attention it deserved, I think some higher-ups tried to sweep this incident under the rug. Thank you for bringing light to what happened on Isla Nublar, more people need to know about this tragedy.
Just another example of the rich cutting corners and getting away with it. Hammond was just fired after getting breaking numerous ethics laws, and getting people killed. Oh but if i get caught with crack i gotta be locked away from society. Americas justice system is a joke!
There were also these wild rumors that one of the company's animals somehow wound up in downtown San Diego a few years later, resulting in quite a bit of damage to property and a number of injuries.
The effects of his incident go beyond just the park itself. My brother was offered a job with Ingen right out of college and had built his career around designing the infrastructure for the park. He was so proud of it and it took over a decade to design. That's all he did night and day for about 8 years and thanks to one fat loser, it's all gone down the drain. My brother has been in a deep depression ever since. It's so sad.

I am old enough to remember when this happened, it was on TV everywhere. It became quite famous for a time - you could even buy toy replica's of the beasts involved. Sounds outrageously disrespectful now given those who died, but these were more innocent times.
I personally think they'd overstretched and already ordered figures of the nimals before opening the park to pump up attention. Rebranding them after the incident to try to get back some of the money they were now paying in compensation.
@@BrennaDraws Probably true. There were stories too that one of the guys who died was trying to make cash on the side too by selling trade secrets to a rival. There were even crazy rumours he might have been responsible for some of the power outages whilst trying to hide his tracks. I think these were conspiracy theories pushed InGen when they realised how much trouble they were in. It's the usual case of 'When things go wrong - blame the guys on the front line'. They probably did all sorts to salvage a buck or two in the aftermath.

I was SO confused. I was lying in bed, 5 am, closed my eyes and was just listening, and kept thinking I’d fallen asleep, missed a chunk of it because it didn’t make sense... finally woke up all the way, saw the photo at the end and heard the dinosaur thing and cracked up!! It was very well done.

Lets just say ingen tried to cover it up. They would have succeeded if it weren’t for their desperate attempt to bring Jurassic park back to San Diego.
The sad part of all this is, every single contributing factor that led to this would have been exposed and could have been mitigated with proper application of chaos theory.
To be fair: As I don't know the film at all I just realized this was an April's fool joke when you were at cloning animals out of DNA and the dinosaurs. Before that this could have been something which I would believe :) Really well played.

Man, I never realized the sabotage was never actually discovered, that genuinely puts a lot of actions in the films in a whole new, vile light. One that sadly fits on this channel well.
didn't they? nedley disappears, all the automated systems controlled by his terminal are malfunctioning and shutting down, they find out that nedley has hard locked everybody out of his terminal with a taunting animation, youre not allowed to hard lock your employer from managing their own systems. i think they knew. i think they didn't know about the corporate espionage angle and just did it because he was disgruntled.
@@TheGuindo not in the books. In the book version they are able to figure out it was done intentionally, because in that version, all the computers were monitored without the knowledge of Nedry, meaning that the rest of the JP staff were able to backtrack his sabotage. Not that it was sufficient to save the island.
@@Gartneren1234 The sabotage was actually discovered in the movie cannon too. In the 2011 video game which takes place during and after the events of the first movie the park veteran was told what happened by a corporate agent who is sent to retrieve the stolen goods after the saboteur fails to get them off the island. The game is rendered non cannon since some of the events shown in it don’t line up with what later happened in the Jurassic World movies (most notably the game ends with Nabar being napalmed by the military like at the end of the first book, but Jurassic World’s later release means that the games’ events couldn’t have happened) but that part of the game’s storyline was later taken and added to company documents that were released on a promotional website that is cannon. So the sabotage was actually discovered in both cannons, but it’s only shown in the movie cannon by extended media.
@@Red-Ranger3142 while it is true that the sabotage was discovered in the movie, it pales in comparison to what the book cannon had. In the movie, all we get to see from the sabotage is a very brief mentioning that the electric fences are shut down. In the book however, the sabotage is explored from the moment they discover the park security has gone down and over the course of several hours, which eventually leads them to discovering that Nedry designed the system purposefully to give him the authority to do what he did, in that he designed with a backdoor access hole Though it's been some time since I last watched the first movie, could be they explore it more than I can remember.
I remember watching a dramatization of the events. It was good, but I still prefer your calm explanation, and I really appreciate your sensitivity toward the children who, I feel, were somewhat exploited in the dramatization. Perhaps next year you could consider a piece on the terrible events at Nakatomi Plaza?
Kinda surprised you haven't covered the "Independence Day incident" where we got attacked by aliens. Thank god we had Will Smith around to SLAP the shit out of those aliens...
I heard Will slapped the alien because the alien joked about the death of his best friend, Harry Connick Jr. To be fair, Harry was a little on the cocky side and he was well known for flying recklessly.
If it were'nt for the attack; It is said by thier fellow surving commrads that had both survived they would be celebrating Harry proposing to Will with a barbeque.
@@LisaBowers I just watched a documentary about when the Moonfall event happened. I always knew the moon was hollow and made of alien tech by our distant ancestors. I was watching this while doing other things and almost immediately recognized names like John Hammond and InGen. This was so very well done, my good man. You had me going far longer than you should have!

I've heard a theory that, instead of being knocked out by the weather, the security system was shut down deliberately by the employee in charge so he could escape with stolen park property. It's probably just a conspiracy theory, but I was hoping you'd address and analyze that theory.
Never thought about it like that but that would explain so much! It's not logical for the whole system to be so vulnerable as to go out unintended without any emergency measures. And we all know this place housed stuff that shady ppl would pay a lot to obtain.
This story line was included in the book based on the events, and the film adaption, but was so controversial that the family of the computer programmer took the writers to court over it, but they claimed that the character of Nedry was a fictional addition and not meant to be based on the actual programmer. It hardly helped the conspiracies though.
I watched a series of documentary films about this and subsequent disastrous events perpetuated by this corporation, and honestly, they sensationalized the entire affair. So many lives lost. I'm glad to see someone finally covering this with the weight and gravity it deserves.

Oh no you made me laugh so hard I got the hiccups

@@gregorymoore2877 I know, right? I'm kind of surprised FH hasn't covered that already.
I urge people to look into this story further. The Isla Nublar incident has been connected with several subsequent tragedies, including a series of deadly animal attacks in San Diego in 1997. It's a terrifying rabbit hole of corporate manslaughter, and it's something we should all be talking about.
I hear there's a new documentary about the latest developments that will be shown for a fee. It's supposed to be made public on June 10.
Have you heard the rumors around Isla Sorna? I know everyone believes it to be a conspiracy theory but why wouldn't another company try to salvage the tech? It's not like they told the truth at all with the whole debacle so why believe them now?
That's just a narrative from phony activism! If you look at the facts you'll see it's a government false flag attacks to delegitimize the ingen corp.
Conspiracy theorist!
”The young children were left nervous REX by the experience” This had me laughing😂
ik man💀
And the DNA mascot went on his SPIELberg.
Nervous Lex?
This species was never even confirmed.
And if a mathematician could see that, makes one wonder why didn't so-called biological "experts" question it.
Don't I know you from somewhere?
My weird uncle always told me "nature finds a way".
@Mikiness Analog
Reportedly, John Hammond didn’t subscribe to chaos theory.
@@nothing4209 He wasn't a biologist either, he was an inventor.
As a Costa Rican, I am thankful for seeing someone doing their research. Most people just go with whatever the media and InGen told to the public.
So many Costa Rican workers were way overworked with the insane tasks given to them, InGen has a lot to answer for
You're kidding I hope.

Wait... Fictional?? ;)

Very fishy.

Lets just say ingen tried to cover it up. They would have succeeded if it weren’t for their desperate attempt to bring Jurassic park back to San Diego.
The sad part of all this is, every single contributing factor that led to this would have been exposed and could have been mitigated with proper application of chaos theory.
Chaos theory... lol
... I see what you did there... -_-
To be fair: As I don't know the film at all I just realized this was an April's fool joke when you were at cloning animals out of DNA and the dinosaurs. Before that this could have been something which I would believe :) Really well played.
I thought this was real until halfway through ㅠ I forgot what today was lol
I agree! He got me good until he said the name Hammond 👍
Seriously? You.never saw Jurassic Park at all? What is stopping you?
Thanks captain
It's a very entertaining franchise, still worth a watch today, just watch em in order, or it gets a might confusing.
Excellent documentary work! Loved it!!! One of my favorites and good to hear a lighthearted video critiquing one of my favorite movies! They should've watched your channel!
Oh my God, that was hysterical!! I love how you guys made an entire “real life” documentary out of a movie. Had I never seen the movie, I would have totally believed this to be true!! Great job!! Loved it!!
You should see it it's great
He did ‘jaws’ last year too. Nearly had me
Was genuinely thinking “omg was this what that movie was based on???” 🤦♀️
Lmao! Hilarious!
As a Costa Rican, I'm appalled that our governments have tried to downplay the events that took place on that island.
They accepted bribes and hid the money in Swiss banks... ironically the same people are running in the current elections and they might win.
The Costa Rican government is notoriously ignorant and uncaring I bet they don't even know where the Cinco Muertes islands are!
I've heard they tried to say it was all fake and no one actually died!
it was a documentary film that opened my eyes to this tragic event
It’s because your government’s military napalmed the island after helping rescue the survivors of the incident.
"Incredibly rare species of lizard and bird". I really had to work at not howling with laughter since people are still sleeping in the house. I love this. Jurassic Park is my favorite film and I love how you did this. An excellent start to my day!
This is not the time to laugh at such a tragedy smh...
@@IndigoRyu Well, to be fair, almost thirty years have passed. I went to college with Lex and she has a remarkable sense of humor about it. And Tim is a genetic scientist now.....no worries...he's REALLY careful.
@@krisc7135 That's really good to hear. I just hope that incidents similar to this one won't happen too often.
Spoiler:
This totally got me! I was talking to my bf about it and I was like I can't believe it's based off a real event! Then I checked in my first student and realized today's date🤣
@@IndigoRyu they will do it again! THIS IS MADNESS!
This might actually be the best April Fools Joke I've ever seen. Congrats, I love it!
This was one of the most well-created - and entertaining - videos ever released on April 1. Well done!
Last year's was the shark attacks off Amity Island. Damn mayor refused to close the beach, but luckily the sheriff was able to kill the shark by shooting an oxygen tank the shark had in its mouth. Bet that mayor lost his reelection
This happened long time ago. I remember seeing a documentary on it when i was like 10.
it took me eight whole minutes before I even realized something seemed a bit off
The best of 2022, definitely.
@@crazyjhey8050 yeah it's called Jurassic park
I remember when this happened, I was absolutely horrified... My uncle actually worked there in the computer lab with Dennis Nedry, my family still grieves.. Thanks for covering this tragedy, Fascinating Horror.. The world should never forget this...
They have a whole series of documentaries on this incident and the aftermath available online for those who are interested! They even tried to remodel the island!
That’s crazy, making all new mistakes 🤦🏼♀️
I'm interested. Can you share a link please??
Can't wait for the fascinating horror video on the remodeling attempt!
🤣🤣
@@dieZauberfloete Cute.
I like this kind of April Fools joke, it’s a quality video and not just some throw away gag reel.
If I’d had to pick, I’d want to see him cover the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park 2011 disaster in the next April fools video.
I vaguely remember seeing a report on this tragedy on the news back in the day. Or was it at the cinema? Either way, I’m glad that you’ve brought it back to our attention
@@JozefLucifugeKorzeniowski i think it was chalked up to incompetence/bad company practices rather than intentional sabotage.
In the book however, the sabotage is explored from the moment they discover the park security has gone down and over the course of several hours, which eventually leads them to discovering that Nedry designed the system purposefully to give him the authority to do what he did, in that he designed with a backdoor access hole
Though it's been some time since I last watched the first movie, could be they explore it more than I can remember.
The 1988 incident at Nakatomi Plaza was actually covered by True Crime Brewery!

Yippee ki yay
I second this!
Lol or the 3 hour tour on the SS Minnow. 🤣😂
A Christmas special perhaps?
When I’m feeling crumby, I drop in and rewatch/listen to this one. It’s my favorite tragedy covered on this channel ever. By far.
You definitely had me going with this. I found myself thinking "this sounds familiar. I guess they must have made a movie about the incident."
This was the most effective summary of a disaster that deeply traumatized my generation! Thank you!!
Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson played the reconstructions brilliantly, they even added a bit of humor to the story. A pretty good production and could easily be turned into an action film with a few tweaks.
The slap heard across the universe. It's why I'm here. To check out the devastation.
Welcome to Earth
I was watching this while doing other things and almost immediately recognized names like John Hammond and InGen. For at least a couple of minutes I sat in stunned silence, my mouth actually hanging open as I tried to wrap my head around "Jurassic Park was based on a true story??!?". This was so very well done, my good man. You had me going far longer than you should have!
Wow you actually nailed this!! No wonder why Seymour Skinner wanted to write a novel called “Billy and the Clonasaurus”
Oh, you have got to be kidding sir. First you think of an idea that has already been done. Then you give it a title that nobody could possibly like. Didn't you think this through?
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!
I mean.... Thank you, come again!

A few years ago Sam Neil actually wrote about a recent trip to Hawaii, where he was asked at Honolulu Airport (by someone who didn't know who he was) if he was going to do all the tourist things like their Jurassic Park experience. His response, "I think I've done that already."
Sam Neill makes nice wine. Often celebrity wines sucks but his is excellent. Two Paddocks Pinot Noir is a nice wine for the price.
Sam should have said: "No power on earth could get me to visit the "Jurassic Park Experience". Spoiler! "Alan! Alan!"
This frames your amazing style. We all know the story, but it's in the way you tell it. Now I know why I've watched every one of your videos.
I still find it amazing that an entire crew of actors managed to document all these events.
This was the most well done April Fool’s joke in internet history.
I just watched this stoned and I thought it reminded me of Jurassic park. So I went to the internet to see if Jurassic park was based on this incident. I feel so stupid right now

@@JoshDaGreat16 That guy was a legend! He once had to rescue a plane full of snakes! Also didn't he work for a gangster for a bit too?
I've heard a theory that, instead of being knocked out by the weather, the security system was shut down deliberately by the employee in charge so he could escape with stolen park property. It's probably just a conspiracy theory, but I was hoping you'd address and analyze that theory.
Nueman!
I heard a rumor the guy died after having acid shot into his face . Predigestion , the dinosaur was said to have starters with his face 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You, Sir, is one good story teller. I genuinely enjoyed listening to this.
I watched a series of documentary films about this and subsequent disastrous events perpetuated by this corporation, and honestly, they sensationalized the entire affair. So many lives lost. I'm glad to see someone finally covering this with the weight and gravity it deserves.
