    Best QB available, Drake has way too many questions for the hopes of making him an elite QB. It has been Jayden from the jump. The film does not lie. Drake Maye is small production and large potential. You don't draft the #2 pick based solely on potential. Maye needs at the minimum one more college season. He may or may not be elite one day, but he is not ready right now, and his productivity or lack thereof over this past season is a testament to that. I hope Maye turns out to be outstanding, I just would not take him at #2 overall.

    Its so odd to me that so many people are now totally sure Daniels is this "can't pass up" stud when they had 43 games of film to watch before this season and graded him as a mid to late round prospect. I get players develop but he was throwing to three very good receivers in Nabors, Thomas and Lacy playing behind a top 5 finalist OL for the Joe Moore award. I mean, what are we doing here? How do you (Not you Craig. You in general) blatantly disregard nearly 4 years of film for one season of incredibly good football in the most advantageous of situations? I understand the compact release and the processing but man, this is a guy who struggled mightily with pressure in his face prior to this season and has an historically bad P2S that is seemingly being handwaved away for god knows what reason? The slight build, the suspect arm strength, the lack of NFL throws within the hashes and his inability to avoid crash test dummy-esque hits are all terrifying to me. Oh well, if he's the pick I'll root like hell for him to succeed whilst watching through my fingers each time he takes off and runs.

    wholeheartedly disagree with the point about good quarterbacks have been good quarterbacks there whole life. Compared to the public average of what a normal person trying to play qb compared to college and nfl players ofc they are always gonna be better, but there are so many prospects that have been projects that worked out and a lot of good college qbs that haven’t. Just to name a few from the past few years who were good safe prospects: Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Mitchell Trubisky, Mac Jones, etc. Qbs from those drafts that were projects and taken later in their respective drafts were josh allen, lamar jackson, Patrick mahomes, Deshaun watson(with the texans), Jalen hurts, Jordan Love. Even Tom Brady the GOAT was a project sixth round pick Aaron Rodgers was a late first because he was a developmental prospect and the niners took alex smith instead. No disrespect but Marc Ross was blessed being around a franchise who was chosen by a manning brother in Eli who was a good college qb who won in big moments and the nfl was different back then. Prospects are not a guaranteed thing you take the guys that fit and have a ceiling you are aiming for high football play not just the guy who is a good college qb who is safe. And i disagree with a situation determining if a guy will be good environment matters that’s a basic sociology concept nurture vs nature. We see this every year take the swing on the guy with the high ceiling in Maye and don’t look back.

    • @craighoffman
      @craighoffman  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think his point is that even guys like the ones you mentioned were productive, awesome college players. Maye was super productive, but he wasn’t always the best player on the field. I think the logic is flawed. It’s not THAT easy, but I do think it’s good perspective.
