This is Planet Hulk bop bop bop bop bop bop bop bop! No Duran Duran in this omni but definitely a book I should have. I prefer Captain America so the Nick Spencer omni might get first dibs on any spare money I have. Thanks Omar!
One of my favourite all time story arcs. I have the OHC and the The Incredible Hulk: Prelude To Planet Hulk in TPB. Not sure I would ever upgrade. Love the OHC, but would be nice I guess to have the prelude in there also.

I remember reading this story back in 2014 and talking my wife’s head off about how good it was. Even the follow up World war Hulk this was a great time to be a Hulk fan.
I have the oversized hardcover of this that just has the Hulk issues and not the lead up to this. It's still a good time and anyone who loves the Hulk will enjoy this and the new era Pak brought to the character.
I have never read any hulk comics, but I’ve been interested in finding a good place to start. Thanks for this overview. Hopefully I’ll be able to get this omnibus someday.
The warning about kids getting hurt... I don't that apilies to this story. It's not child abuse or anything, but the thing that happens to the child happens to everyone. But you are right, it's heart-wrenching. What story-telling!
This & World World Hulk were the greatest runs of Hulk... Then along came Immortal Hulk. I don't mind that the new printing is thinner, I actually prefer that in omnis that can be made that way cause it means more space on the shelf!

I just got my copy of the new printing and damn there is such a strong chemical smell my entire house smells like it just got all the rooms freshly painted. Any advice on dealing with that? It's crazy how strong the smell is.
Ladrönn is actually mexican, although his style is obviously heavily influenced by Moebius and european science fiction comics in general. Great artist, love his work on the final Incal as well...

Probably going to add this to the collection at some point. Probably going to wind up getting Peter David Vol 5 as well considering the continuity but I already bought the other 4 omnis for David's run so why not complete it?
You should see the animated Planet Hulk movie if you want a good adaptation. This was the best marvel animated movie in my opinion. Though do remember it's an adaptation and a lot of the appearances you're looking for didn't happen due to copyright issues at that time.

They’re both good stories as long as you don’t compare them, actually. Planet Hulk is a character drama, while World War Hulk is a big budget summer action movie. They’re meant to be different in tone

So Reed Richards is going to trust Bruce Banner enough to help save his unborn child and then repay him by tricking and blasting Bruce into space? Despite the uncharacteristic way in which the Hulk finds himself in space, the actual Planet Hulk story sounds pretty good.
It’s nice to see this back in print, I know a lot of people really have been wanting to pick this up. We really need the Bruce Jones run collected now. It’s the only modern Hulk run not in an Omnibus! 👍🏼
Jason Aaron Hulk, Indestructible Hulk, Hulk by Waid and Duggan, Savage Hulk, and Totally Awesome Hulk are not available in omnibus format. An Aaron omnibus would be very thin. I think there might be a good chance Indestructible and the Waid/Duggan run might come in omnibus at some point.

Read this story about a year ago, it's amazing. So then I rushed out and read World War Hulk, which is quite a disappointment in comparison.
