I have the My4Sons going into my 3rd season with it. I have an 8.4k sq ft lawn and use it about every other week between bio stims, fungicide, insecticide and N-Ext ferts. It does extremely well and thus far I've only had to charge it at the start of the season and it lasts from early spring straight through to the end of fall on a single charge. My guestimate is about 70 gallons of output over 8 months, on a single charge.
My son and I have had My4Sons sprayers for several years, long enough that the sealed lead acid batteries needed replacing. I was pleased that I could order a battery conversion kit from M4S to allow me to use a Dewalt tool battery, which worked great. My son will be converting his to use Milwaukee batteries. They also offer the sprayer that uses Makita, Black and Decker, Bosch, Rigid or Hercules batteries. My sprayer has a variable volume control and a high/low switch which was not mentioned in the video. We love our sprayers. We use the included brass sprayer tips. I put mine on my ATV which I drive while my wife walks ahead or behind to spray weeds on our steep lake bank. The extra long hose and extendable wand are perfect for this as we sometimes need all the reach we can get. The tested sprayer in the video is likely missing the green o-ring (faucet washer) where the parts attach to each other. Replacement o-rings are available at a low price from M4S (I bought 10 extra ones). The service from M4S is OUTSTANDING! I contacted the owner, Lance Ensign, with questions, parts that I lost or broke and to purchase additional parts and accessories. He has always responded quickly, was very helpful and cares about the customer experience and satisfaction. I cannot commend Lance highly enough for his customer service and great product.
Man you tickled me when you said, "I was thinking there might be a terd out of one of these." Great video. Your review helped me too make my decision. I was indecisive because a have about 4 Ryobi batteries. I will purchase the My 4 Sons. Thank you again, You are helping us with your detailed reviews. I know it takes a lot to make these professional videos, "your time" being just one of the major factors. But we need this. I was viewing another video on BP sprayers and that person mentioned your review.
Great review. Nice to see any of these options will work for someone working within a budget. I liked watching your dog in the background enjoying the lawn.
I’ve had the 105Ex for 3 years. Used about 5 times a year on 14000 sf . I just had to order a new pump because some little spring inside broke. Easy to replace. $40.00 . Their customer service sucks. E- mail only, seriously. But it is a good sprayer. Thanks for your videos.
I'm not going to lie 🔋-operated sprayers are pretty damn cool but I was super happy just to have a backpack pump sprayer I use the Chapin 62000 model ($140) model 61900 ($107) with CF-valve keeps pressure the same. Good video bro! Thanks for your time & sharing 👍👍💯💪
Great extensive review. I bought the 4g spray mate last summer and I think beside the logo its an excellent sprayer for the money. The padding on the back of the tank is not really comfortable but not uncomfortable at all. I definitely recommend above the Chapin.
Technically the Ryobi will run the longest if you slap a massive 9 amp hour batter in it. Heck even the 4 amp hour battery will last forever. However the Ryobi does not put out as many gpm as say a flow zone. I use them both a prefer the flow zone for blanket apps but love running the Ryobi as well. The beauty of Ryobi is just buying the sprayer tool only and using your already owned batteries.
Ryobi and Milwaukee backpack sprayers are very low quality, unfortunately. They all fail. Now my four sons offers new sprayers that can accept whatever tool brand you have. Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi, etc. I just ordered the Milwaukee model.
Flowzone Silica Sprayer is on clearance at 129$ right now! I think there is 80 left. It is totally overlooked hidden gem. The only difference between the "Silica" version is the attachment to wetsaw and other power equipment. Just replace the nozzle for yard work and you are all set! I got the AMAZING comfort straps and still under 150$
The Huk and Salt Life spandex/poly is what I wear for yard work. The best material I have found for the Florida heat. Soak them in Borax when they start to smell bad. Some yard TH-camr should make their shirts with this material.
Great review. Ive had the ryobi for about 2 months and after using it 2-3 times I am reaLLY liking it so far. Of course ive got about 25 tools in the Ryobi line.
Brett I really enjoyed the comparison. I have a 2 gallon sprayers plus and I love it. I plan to review it sometime this spring or summer. For $100 that I paid it is a tank and perfect for my needs and lawn size. Of the 4 sprayers reviewed, I would buy the Sprayers plus

My4sons for sure.. Metal valve body, two quick change heads (that I hope don't leak) < and the head assortment...Nice!!! If you spray chemicals professionally the heads all have their place. I just purchased the Ryobi and wanted to compare it to a Kobalt 40volt unit. The fine spray on the Ryobi is excellent, the straps and the lid fitment around the tank are another story..(no leaks)....( Excellent review.... Nice lawn!
I bought a Ryobi due to the fact i use makita batteries with adaptor , 6 year warranty . 6 amp battery should last 6 hours continuous .I have spare batteries and they charge up quick .
I had a Chapin 4-gallon backpack pump type and did not last long, rubber seal got brittle even though kept in the shed when not in use, and only use weed killer in it. Called Chapin for a warranty and they said I use chemicals on the sprayer. What do they think weed killers are, Milk?
When I first started using my SprayersPlus 105 Ex, I cranked down way to hard on the locking nut for the wand and it cracked. I emailed their customer support and received a replacement wand that week, even though I explained that it was my fault. So, don't crank down on that plastic locking nut! Just a little tight is good enough to prevent leaks. My only criticism of the unit is the nature of the lid/flange. As Brett shows, it has to be shaken to get the last bit of liquid out. No big deal, really, and that flange design is super strong, so that's the trade off. No way are you ever striping out or breaking that lid.
Nice job! Question. If i wanted to spray "as far" as possible for (insect spray on my house and under my deck) what sprayer battery would be best?? Any thoughts on Dewalt 299 battery sprayer? they say it does 35 feet. THANKS
