I love terraforming in minecraft. Watching the whole group terraforming was mesmerizing
Whenever I try to terraform it ends up looking like something from and eldritch dimension and not in a good way.

I know Ren’s retaliating in the form of Scabland, a seedy, overpriced competitor theme park to Scarland. (When I first heard about it, I was worried that it would be a cosmetic redo for Scarland. Thank goodness.)

Even though we know what the highlight of the video was, there's no denying that the clip of False's drift was incredibly skilled.

I'll admit blowing up the cover was somehow more satisfying than digging up the original perimeter was. But i think doc should have kept it.
Afaik, if he just lit up the top the rates of the farms would go back to normal, since the mobspawning algorithm works from the bottom up
That sadly wouldn't work.
The spawning algorithm chooses a random XZ coordinate to spawn a hostile mob first. Then it checks for the highest block in the Y column of that XZ coordinate and finally chooses a random block within that height limit to attempt the spawn.
This means, that if Doc would leave the roof of the perimeter on, those blocks would count as the highest in their respective Y columns and thus a lot of spawn attempts would happen randomly mid air and fail. That is why the most optimized farm is build as low as possible and has no blocks above.
the short version as I understand it is that it works from the bottom up, but it also matters if there are higher spots or not as well, so the lid not just being above it but so high above it actually does mess with the rates... just not at a level us mortals would notice 🤷♂️

Where can I watch the full perimeter covering???? I refuse to believe that nobody was streaming at the time? And other than the Buttercup's videos, I've found shockingly little from the other 10 as to their thoughts, feelings, and footage.

I mean, it's impossible no one thought "Hey, maybe I should record for all those future generations the creation of a work of art to rival that of the painting of the Ceiling in the Sistine Chapel."
Apparently it was about 14 hours of work iirc, definitely over half a day. They werent recording audio or anything because they were just hanging out while doing it, but several people had timelapses in their videos.

Damn, I was kinda hoping Doc would admit defeat and leave the war at that once he uncovered his base. I mean, they got the whole server against him for one last hoorah and are done now, they’ve disbanded.

it IS the longest hermitcraft season! and they plan on keeping it going until Decked Out has finished I think :D
@@lenatunnissen369 Maybe they're keeping it going to make up for season 8 ending a bit prematurely.
I don’t know but season 5 was 65 weeks, season 6 was 83 weeks and season 7 was 63 weeks. Season 9 is a bit longer than the average but I think there’s still some things that have not been finished like Decked Out so it might still go into the nineties. So I’m predicting it ending late this year before Christmas and maybe restarting early in 2024.

If only the resource gathering and tunneling bedwars styled gamemode were an original idea.
Sure, tunneling itself as part of bedwars hasn't been done before, but tunneling pvp is a minigame on Cytooxien.
However, gathering resources to upgrade defense and offense and get the respawn of the opposing team is absolutely not new, and that completely free of resource spawners. I'm talking about the first 1.9 gamemode where every server was still on 1.8, but I don't remember which server it was on. It could be GommeHD, it could be Hypixel, or it could be some other Server I don't remember anymore.
