- After being deserted by his wife, a former investigator finds relief at the bottom of a liquor bottle. His life improves when he meets a young woman on the commuter train who reminds him of his worth. When she suddenly disappears, he begins to imagine that she is desperately calling for help and relies on his old abilities to find her.

Finally warming up in Central NC! 41 degrees and Sunny! We were hit with a Blast of Cold weather for a while. By Thursday afternoon we are looking at 70 degrees with a few showers! Beats the heck out of the 12 degree nights we’ve been having! May the Lord Bless you all who are listening and reviewing these texts! 🥶✌🏼🙏🏻

01-21-24 Listening from Southern Ontario, Canada , 43* N. Temperature is 19*, but the wind is making it feel as if it’s 6* !! Winds are from out of the West, Southwest, as usual: 19 km/hr with gusts of 43 km/hr winds. I’m afraid my life hasn’t “quite “ matched up to the sort of end-of-life-pages that E.G. claimed some “philosopher” purported. I’m not handsome, strong, wise or rich ! But, I think it’s fair to say I’ve tried my very best at life. I’ve tried hard to live up to the expectations of everyone in my life that mattered most to me - father, mother, a peck or two of loving aunts and uncles (actually 12) and 7 siblings - that were all trying to do the same ! Given everything, I can’t really complain. To those who have been given “much”, “much” is expected, and rightly so. What we look like on the outside doesn’t matter - it’s what’s inside our hearts that matter. And I may not be physically strong, but I pull my weight when it comes to responsibilities. I was lucky to come from a family of wise elders - maybe that’s not luck, and maybe I proved myself wise in recognizing that. I feel I’ve lived a very “rich” life, without needing much, and so, having a little leftover to give to some else. Besides, we all know it isn’t money that makes us rich. We become rich when we weave a rich tapestry in life, with love. - with what we are and do: how many “threads per inch are stitched” with vibrant memories, rich from all the hearts of all those we’ve touched and helped. And that really means we can all be handsome, strong, wise and rich - it’s all up to us to find the pattern in Life.
Loved the story, and of course, Fred Gwynne ! He was one of the most “handsome, strong, wise, and - “certainly “ very rich in all the important ways in Life ! …..at least in my eyes ! Hope everyone one of us has wonderful dreams tonight, a peaceful rest. A big thank you to Sir Edge of Knightfall from me - I really appreciate these wonderful bedtime stories, and gives me something to ponder as I fall asleep, instead of just counting sheep ……. Love to all ! 🙏❤🫠😘😺😺
