I have just discovered your wonderful Leigh videos. My great grandfather was a miner there in the 1880s. This brings the past to life for me and helps me understand what life was like for him long, long ago. And it's cheaper than a flight over to walk the streets myself, although I hope to do that as well someday. Thanks for this labor of love, you have done a great and much appreciated job.
    Cheers!

I was proud to be born in Leigh in the early 50s and loved living there, I left 30 years ago and returned for a visit 10 years ago...what a vast downturn! I do remember it started when we were sided into Wigan borough council. Bad things happened to Leigh then and that's when I left.

Born in 56 and raised in Leigh was always a great place to live…But I now live in Knutsford..been back to Leigh a few times over the past couple of years only to find it’s not the place I remember, and it is sad to say not for the better..

what about the old Lilford Hotel in Bradshawgate built in 1800's and the brewery behind it? I cannot believe it's not a listed building.

Spent many hours of 8 years in Leigh. Coming from London, ... France originally,.... at the George and Dragon.
How old do you think the building is?
