Sabse kam time me banne wala tasty Paav Bhaji
Ingredients:
4 potatoes (boiled and mashed)
1 cup cauliflower (boiled and mashed)
1/2 cup green peas (boiled and mashed)
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon butter
2 green chilies (chopped)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1-inch piece of ginger (finely chopped)
5-6 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
2 medium-sized onions (chopped)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoon red chili powder
1 tablespoon garam masala powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
2 tomatoes (chopped)
6 tablespoon pav bhaji masala (available in stores)
Salt to taste
Water as required
Pav (bread rolls) for serving
Extra butter (for frying pav)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Vegetable Paste:
Start by boiling the potatoes, cauliflower, and green peas until soft. Once boiled, drain the water and mash them together into a smooth paste. You can use a blender or mixie for this step to ensure the vegetables are finely mashed.
2. Cook the Spices and Vegetables:
Heat a pan or kadai over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once the butter has melted, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Next, add the chopped green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Sauté for a minute until the garlic becomes aromatic.
Add the chopped onions and cook them until they turn golden brown and soft.
3. Add Spices:
Now, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, and pav bhaji masala to the onion mixture. Stir well for a minute to cook the spices and release their flavors.
4. Add Tomatoes:
Add the chopped tomatoes and salt to the pan. Stir everything together and cook until the tomatoes soften and blend into the mixture. This will take about 5 minutes.
5. Add Vegetable Paste:
Once the tomato mixture has cooked down, add the mashed vegetables (potato, cauliflower, and peas) into the pan. Mix thoroughly to combine the vegetables with the spices.
Gradually add water, little by little, to adjust the consistency of the bhaji. The bhaji should have a smooth, slightly thick texture. Cook it on a low flame for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, allowing the flavors to meld together and the bhaji to thicken.
6. Serve the Pav Bhaji:
Once the bhaji has cooked and reached your desired consistency, it's ready to serve.
In a separate pan, heat some butter and toast the pav (bread rolls) until golden and crispy on both sides.
7. Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the hot bhaji with the buttered pav. You can garnish the bhaji with chopped onions, fresh coriander, and a squeeze of lemon for added flavor.
Enjoy your delicious homemade Pav Bhaji!
