Nugget looks great health wise, and your right Alan all she needs is a little grooming session, and she'll be back to being gorgeous! Everyone looks great, I mean it's winter for crying out loud. Their fuzzy and muddy, but come springtime after they shed off they will all look beautiful again. Don't listen to any criticism Alan, people that make ugly comments probably don't even own horses! Love and God Bless all MY farm family on Route 66 💜 ✝️ Jennifer
I think Nugget looks just fine, it's all cosmetic, but she looks healthy and well fed! I'm sure a bath and a brush will do wonders.... just a little makeover!
Pumpkin is a strikingly beautiful horse. I hope you do keep her. Nugget is so sweet, pretty and smart. Hope she enjoys the added attention and helps her out.
Hi from New Hampshire ❤ we have responsibility to help all God's creatures when we can and are inspired to do so. Your a wonderful soul, love your family and channel for setting the example and experience. God bless you. Nugget is good she is a horse, in very good condition 😊
The best brush that I've found that works amazingly to remove mud quick and easily is believe or not a dog slicker brush. Its my most valuable go to tool for this type of situation. Worth a try 😊
Pumpkin looks like the paintings of the native war ponies. She is really flashy. One of my favorite horses you have had. Looking forward to seeing her upcoming training as she grows up.
Nugget is hysterical, like the little kid who sees a mud puddle and runs right in while everyone else around thinks what a mess. Just let her be dirty. She looks good. She looks healthy. Wait for warmer weather. Nobody can accuse you of abusing your horses they are very lucky to have you
Horses don't care if they're dirty. Maybe, to a horse, mud is makeup, and cockleburrs could be a horse's form of jewlery. 😊Not to worry. Whyever it is, the horse did it. It's hard to keep up when they're pastured.
Any horse you can bathe and groom - then when you turn them loose, they roll in the mud and look a mess. Sometimes the mud "shell" is to help keep off biting insects
Take it easy on yourself, Pumpkin has a full hind end and a big belly. The rest is cosmetic. Also, my yearlings all stay in the back pasture because they go through a growth phase where they look scraggly no matter what, and they always grow out of it.
I’m from Australia and love seeing horses just being allowed to be horses. That’s just Nugget being a horse you are lucky you have a place where you can turn out horses. It’s just unfortunate there are cockleburs that mat their tails and main. She is looking very healthy, just a bit scruffy. A bit of TLC will do her a heap of good.
I put baking soda in an large shaker. I spread it on the horses backs and brush it into their fur. It cleans and disinfects their hair. I am not sure how to conquer those large chunks of mud, though.
I had a mare that used to love giant thistle, she would roll her lips back and take the flower and some small prickly leaves from the tops. I couldn't believe she could eat it without hurting her tongue! I'm from UK.
I had a mare that didn't fully mature until she was 7 yrs. old, and she was getting top-notch care, exercise & feed. But between 7 and 8, she got her height (15-2 hands), was filled out & muscled up beautifully, and at her absolute best.
to many over the years, but I have always according to the wife, have always give all of them too much TLC, then again, I feed the dogs horse grain, best shindy coats you have ever seen. you just do what you think is right. Keep up the great work
You can use pliers to break the mud up. Then it should brush off pretty easy...my grandpa taught that to my mom in the fifties. They didnt bathe horses on the farm back then i guess.❤😮😊
I would give her just a little rice bran, it will put a shine on her coat and it will help her gain weight.. I give my old 29 yr old gelding a little bit every day and it keeps his weight on. Not sure how much for one that small so research it, it is much much more reasonable cost wise
Oh NUGGET! I have a granddaughter just like you! Haha.. im sure your horses are some of the happiest around. Pumpkin is such a pretty girl! I did not see when she came on your ranch.
Hey Alan……..and Vicki. You’ve got some good looking rescues right now. Thanks for the videos, I appreciate your efforts. I’m too old to have any now so I’ll live vicariously through you…..lol. Your daughter is getting tall! Of course that’s good in basket ball and volley ball. BTW…Haven’t heard, and was hoping to, anything about what I told you. I’m not holding my breath. But if I hear anything, I’ll let you know.
Yes definitely wait for warmer weather to get Nugget wet and then please use hot water...with her not having a lot of body mass she will chill very easily and that's not good
Ellen you should literally invest in getting dry shampoo it's basically like a little wet and it'll help get off some things to take time and you might need butt loads of it but when it's cold that's what I use on my dogs that's what I use on my horses is the best darn stuff out there I hope I am very helpful
Concho will try to dry himself if he gets wet……. My neighbours old mare loved to get in a swampy area and paw and paw until you couldn’t tell she had white Sox Liked nothing better than to get plastered with muck I think it helps deter the flys
Hi Alan, have you thought about blanketing Nugget for the winter? I do that with one of mine who loves to roll in the mud, 6 degrees here in Massachusetts!
I love Nugget, she’s my favorite out of all your horses. Mines is an easy keeper, it’s almost as if I have to slow down her feed ratio because she’s super big. And no she’s not exposed to a stud lol.
Pumpkin Spice Latte is what came to me as soon as I saw her! She is GORGEOUS, is she available for re-homing? I’d LOVE to have her and keep her with my BLM Mustangs FOREVER..please let me know her status.. Thanks 🙏🏼🫶🏼🤗
Remember Alan that was Young horses you do want to show the ribs just a little bit you don't want them to their complete weight quite yet because it can hurt their growth but not overweight and she looks healthy on her weight but she does look like she may have a worm belly
Now Allan was baby horses to keep the correct weight on them you have to exercise them and stretch your legs in a round pin they also need like you're going to do is give feed such as grain 50 lb bag of oats and that will help as well she may need supplements and try to deworm her let's see if that helps she is more prone to different types of you know things out there I hope this is helpful me and my mother raised a few baby horses there's a special supplement you can give baby horses
Peanut oil on nuggets clay clumps to help pull them out. It's like using peanut butter to remove bubblegum from hair, chuckle. I use tonuse showsheen for the winter on my mountain mare who was notorious pigpen😂. It made grooming out mud in a cinch❤...pumpkin is beautiful but Sandy is gorgeous 😍...
The donkeys are so social. You didn’t have food but they stayed right there.
The donkeys really are social, Janet! It’s always fun to watch them interact.
Nugget looks great health wise, and your right Alan all she needs is a little grooming session, and she'll be back to being gorgeous! Everyone looks great, I mean it's winter for crying out loud. Don't beat yourself up. Her coat color is beautiful. You do a Great Job❤
Looking forward to seeing him home so he can get busy helping you.
Blake is going to be thrilled to see him buddy, Rawhide, looking so fit and happy!😊
Blake is going to be so happy to see Rawhide looking fit and happy! Thank you, Deb!
I think Nugget looks just fine, it's all cosmetic, but she looks healthy and well fed! I'm sure a bath and a brush will do wonders.... just a little makeover!
Thanks, Lisa! Nugget just needs a little grooming, and she’ll be back to looking great in no time.
Pumpkin is a strikingly beautiful horse. I hope you do keep her. Nugget is so sweet, pretty and smart. Hope she enjoys the added attention and helps her out.
Can't wait for Blake to work with Pumpkin
Hi from New Hampshire ❤ we have responsibility to help all God's creatures when we can and are inspired to do so. Your a wonderful soul, love your family and channel for setting the example and experience. God bless you. Nugget is good she is a horse, in very good condition 😊
Sometimes we all need a little TLC whether we are man or beast. Just take her home give her some love and I bet you she’ll recover.
Nuggets needs to come back to the farm for some tlc. Peppi and Rawhide look so good. Cowboy needs to get closer to the other horses.
The best brush that I've found that works amazingly to remove mud quick and easily is believe or not a dog slicker brush. Its my most valuable go to tool for this type of situation. Worth a try 😊
Very interesting about the plant Camel thorn.
Pumpkin looks like the paintings of the native war ponies. She is really flashy. One of my favorite horses you have had. Looking forward to seeing her upcoming training as she grows up.

Give her a "spa day!" 😂
They live on a ranch
My God they aren't dying. You take care of all of your horses.❤
Thanks for the support! We take care of our horses, and it’s great to hear you appreciate that. ❤
Any horse you can bathe and groom - then when you turn them loose, they roll in the mud and look a mess. Sometimes the mud "shell" is to help keep off biting insects
You’re right, sometimes horses just love to roll in the mud! It helps keep the bugs off, so we just let them be.
Oh my, you have gotten some pretty ones!
I think Nugget is adorable! I also think if there is enough pasture, horses prefer living out with their buddies.
Nuggets general conformation looks good
Pumpkin has definitely has some differently coloring. Getting some things for Blake to do when he gets home.
Pumpkin really does have some unique coloring! Blake will have plenty to do when he gets home.
You need a Go Pro fastened to your chest. Hands free and great video. 👍
Take it easy on yourself, Pumpkin has a full hind end and a big belly. The rest is cosmetic. Also, my yearlings all stay in the back pasture because they go through a growth phase where they look scraggly no matter what, and they always grow out of it.
Curry comb both round and flat does the trick also sheading comb or sheading sponge pumice looking thing.

High today in michigan 1 degree. 😮😮

If that's in the photo that marketed this video, it's amazing how much he looks like his dad.
It’s amazing how much he looks like his dad! A beautiful family resemblance.
Pumpkin is really uniquely marked. She will make a stunning horse for whoever ends up with her.
Pumpkin is definitely uniquely marked, and I agree - she’ll make a stunning horse for her future owner
I love your grey horse! Looks just like the horse I had in my teens. She was my absolute best friend! I miss her sooo much!
I can't wait till Blake gets home! He's coming home to Rawhide and a new project horse to train! 💖💖💖
Thank you! Blake is going to be excited to come home to Rawhide and a new project horse! 💖
Interesting about that plant that they're eating never heard of it😗😗 Beautiful horses, I like Pumpkin👍👍💞💞
I had a mare that used to love giant thistle, she would roll her lips back and take the flower and some small prickly leaves from the tops. I couldn't believe she could eat it without hurting her tongue! I'm from UK.
I have it had never seen it before and didn't know what to call it😮
I find spraying with show sheen detanglelizer works if you put all over the whole body then brush out.
I had a mare that didn't fully mature until she was 7 yrs. old, and she was getting top-notch care, exercise & feed. But between 7 and 8, she got her height (15-2 hands), was filled out & muscled up beautifully, and at her absolute best.
That’s really interesting, it’s great to hear she fully matured later!

That’s a great idea because a steel curry comb will hardly touch clay that’s hardened like that.
I would give her just a little rice bran, it will put a shine on her coat and it will help her gain weight.. I give my old 29 yr old gelding a little bit every day and it keeps his weight on. Not sure how much for one that small so research it, it is much much more reasonable cost wise
👍❤️🐴🙋🏻♀️ Love greetings Carina
I believe that Appaloosa color is called a varnish roan. It will probably change over time.
Oh NUGGET! I have a granddaughter just like you! Haha.. im sure your horses are some of the happiest around. Pumpkin is such a pretty girl! I did not see when she came on your ranch.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Katherine! I really appreciate your support. Our daughter is indeed growing tall!
Pumpkin is so cute!! 🥰
Rawhide has really musceled up. He looks amazing as he has matured.
If you can't scrape the clay off,,I'd leave it, weather and rolling might work the best
Would some of the detangler help loosen the chunks of mud without getting her wet?
Cowboy showing off for Pumpkin is cute.
Yes definitely wait for warmer weather to get Nugget wet and then please use hot water...with her not having a lot of body mass she will chill very easily and that's not good
I’m in Australia, and never heard of camel thorn 🤣. But it looks like something that should grow here 😆
Camel thorn is quite an interesting plant, Lucy! It might indeed be something that grows in Australia!
Alan beautiful fillies peppy nugget
Pumpkin is a looker. Blake will have fun with her.
Pumpkin is definitely a looker! Blake will have a great time with her.
Ellen you should literally invest in getting dry shampoo it's basically like a little wet and it'll help get off some things to take time and you might need butt loads of it but when it's cold that's what I use on my dogs that's what I use on my horses is the best darn stuff out there I hope I am very helpful
Hey Alan and Vicki, Nugget says" it was fun Dad"🤭.
Pumpkin is beautiful 😍.
JO JO IN VT 💞☃️
Haha, Nugget sure had fun, Jo Jo! And I’m glad you think Pumpkin is beautiful. 😊
You can clean up a horse, and The next day 😅they look like they have never been taken care of 😂.. she looks fine ❤
You’re right - no matter how much we clean them, they always find a way to get dirty again! But Nugget looks healthy, and that’s what matters most. ❤
Concho will try to dry himself if he gets wet…….
My neighbours old mare loved to get in a swampy area and paw and paw until you couldn’t tell she had white Sox
Liked nothing better than to get plastered with muck
I think it helps deter the flys
What do they call Pumpkin’s coloration? She’s so beautiful!
She's a varnish roan appaloosa, looks like to me.
@ thanks 😊
She’s a registered quarter horse.

Some horses get fat pretty easily, but some horses can drop weight pretty quickly.
What if you just concentrate on the top side
If she can roll most of it should wear off
You could fry a wire slicker brush
Like for a poodle dog
Remember Alan that was Young horses you do want to show the ribs just a little bit you don't want them to their complete weight quite yet because it can hurt their growth but not overweight and she looks healthy on her weight but she does look like she may have a worm belly
Looks like she had pixies riding her. All the curls in her mane
Alan, she doesn't look awful. She has mud and can use more food, but don't be so hard on yourself.
Is Cowboy broke?
Is he for sale?
I love his colors and face
Those are fairy knots in her mane 😁
Is Pepper Jack gelded or maybe having s mule baby ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Now Allan was baby horses to keep the correct weight on them you have to exercise them and stretch your legs in a round pin they also need like you're going to do is give feed such as grain 50 lb bag of oats and that will help as well she may need supplements and try to deworm her let's see if that helps she is more prone to different types of you know things out there I hope this is helpful me and my mother raised a few baby horses there's a special supplement you can give baby horses
I have a question, where do these horses get their drinking water ?
There is a watering hole that stays full year-round
👍👍👍
I’ve had horses in the past.
You're doing fine by these horses. I seen worse.
Like from Ukraine ✌️🇺🇦✌️
❤
I know the frustration
Can you take the horses to the car wash?
You do need to clean out that trailer.
Some WD40 sprayed on the mud will help you loosen it up. Available by the gallon at TSC. Good to keep around in spray bottle.
Great tip on the peanut oil for Nugget’s clay clumps! I’ll definitely try that. And thank you for the compliment on Pumpkin and Sandy!
❤ Please like and Share ❤We want to continue to watch this Beautiful Family ❤
Have to disagree, even an " easy keeper" needs more than weeds.
Ok I heard you say you feed hay everyday. So they're getting necessary food values.
Looks like rain rot
i won't criticise
❤❤
