Do not worry, I am covering the (surprisingly complex) sequence of events probably related to a magmatic intrusion on Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula for Monday’s full length video.
Thanks! While most magmatic intrusions fail before reaching the surface, to those who are near Bogoslof and Bulusan, please be careful! Phreatic eruptions are not to be taken lightly! Klyuchevskoy is one of my favorite volcanoes. Its recent growth phase is reminiscent of Etna's recent growth phase! These estimates may be inaccurate, but some height estimates of Klyuchevskoy are already over 4,800 meters tall! It would be nice to have a graph depicting Klyuchevskoy's height over time. Now, I am quite curious about Klyuchevskoy's neighbor, Kamen. It is very steep and has not erupted in many years! Could it produce a catstrophic flank collapse soon?
That’s actually really sweet. The Kamchatka chain legitimately looks beautiful though I have to wonder with such rapid growth aren’t landslides a potential issue with this volcano?
It’s got a beautiful name too. Though of course El Popo is a decade volcano for a good reason. That said doesn’t El Popo have a sister volcano that’s extinct near by?
Thanks. I am really curious about Paredão, if it is extinct or just dormant. I tried contacting a geologist from an university (Nathalia Pasqualon) about it but had no answer, unfortunately.
As the other person said yea to far inland, but even if Kamchatka had volcanoes right by the shore (which there is a few), it wouldn’t affect the northwest since landslide tsunamis don’t travel very far
Hope the one in the Philippines doesn't go "Krakatoa", that would be bigger than 4 km. Allot of crazy geology in that part of that hemisphere, past and present.
@@justinebautista1383Bulusan seems to be (currently) hard limited to a maximum of VEI 2, and its eruptions in historic time have never really surpassed a rating of VEI 2.
We still only guess after a certain point what's down there, we can only peer so deep. I understand the data but, the Indian Ocean quake killed a 1/4 million people, no one saw that coming.
air traffic in areas with many active volcanoes must be rather complicated when several volcanoes seem to "wake up" flying in a volcanic plume is not the best idea for the painting of the plane (volcanic plume = very effective sandblasting cabin) and the "health" of the reactors (volcanic plume + engines = shutdown of all engines)

Reason for increase in earth agitation is because the southern Asia range made by India crashing is still in full push. Any picture of loose land up on Everest shows the mountain is still growing at the same rate for years. The ring of India from rift valley to Indonesia contacting Zealand is the next event.

Could any consequence form the melting of the Antarctic ice cause a change in the volume and violence of volcanoes?
I never realized how active the earth is until I started watching your channel!
Gosh I love your channel. So simple, so straightforward, fact based and properly cited. Thank you.

@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective True! I remember reading a research paper about landslide risks in Kamchatka!
Has anyone noticed how pretty the sunrises and sunsets have been this summer and fall? The sky doesn't seem to be as blue as it should be.
I don't know where you live, but the Canadian forrest fires have produced red morning/evening skies as far as Europe.

Is it possible to get audio of a harmonic tremor? I'd really like to hear what one sounds like.
Volcanoes Yet to Cover:
- Semeru (Indonesia)
- Ontake (Japan)
- Pico do Fogo (Cabo Verde)
- Aconcágua (extinct in Argentina)
- Trindade/Paredão (maybe extinct in Brasil)
Of these, Fogo I will cover first.

The lists of locations near the end flash by way too fast .
The uplift at Klyuchevskoy is because of the combination of semi viscous magma extruding onto the surface and adding to the summit area.

A quick question for my geologically astute friends out there. Is Kamchatka going to cause Tsunami problems for the
Pacific Northwest?
The volcanoes seem to be too far inland to make tsunamis during slope failure imo.

I don't think Bulusan has enough magma pressure underneath to have another VEI 7 atm.
