Star Chasers dropping from 10 Days to 7 Days was a big nerf even with bringing back the Epic Crew shards, especially when they're still restricted to one try per 24 hrs.
My problem is they doubled down on the absurd tour requirements. Yes the more limited racers like gold rarity ones or limited ones typically are only in that level 25 range. BUT its unlocking them in the first place that is still the problem. Especially for new players Time will tell if they actually give all those characters proper reruns to help with that though. Which is what i'm hoping for

Appreciate you skyline. The game doesn’t feel rewarding enough. And it really needs more variation in the online modes. . I used to grind this game every day since early access day 1 for months. But idk the gameplay is great but it’s just missing something in the multiplayer side. And the last 2 season themes have just been pretty lame imo . Hope more positive changes are to come
I really hope they fix the terrible midseason events. I only really played season 5 for Wall-E, but didn't even end up unlocking him because of how brutal it was.
Same here 😶 The only midseason racer I unlocked so far is Steamboat Mickey, and for Figment, WALL-E, Oswald and Ortensia I only managed to get 5 shards during their respective events. And some of the following events weren't a great help either. They felt more like the game was rubbing it in your face that you still miss this character 😅 (for instance the 'Dragon of Courage' event a while ago, where you could only receive Figment shards by completing missions that required Figment 😂) It's ridiculous, really

I'm glad we can preview all the chapters, I need to get some characters to 3 stars and without the preview I would not even try to upgrade them 😅 (Lilo, Belle and Randall). I'm mixed in the character boxes, I like that I can get specific shards BUT with the nerf to get tokens after getting to 50 on the ST, I think everyone will sacrifice the development of 1 or 2 characters.
I'm content with how it is now, with everything I've unlocked starting off in the Aladdin Season. We'll see how that Eve event goes, but that garbage Wall-E event left me at just barely unlocking him, so it isn't like I can even do her Node in the Season Tour.
I think that they can adjust the difficulty setting in the season tour depending on the racer your playing. For example if you’re playing a level 25, the difficulty is also 25.
I'd say it's worse more than anything. The only improvement was to the season tour, and they didn't really make it easier, they just made it so we can prepare for requirements. Season box change is just hands down worse. A newcomer free player will absolutely get less out of them than we did in season 4. Even if the quantities the same as that season, the ratio is far more balanced in favor of getting common and rare crew. Everything else like events and online are either unchanged or slightly worse as well.
I’ve used my season tokens only if I needed to star a racer up. I have about 15 tokens saved up. I plan on using them on Ursula since she is only Gold character. She’s gong to be the hardest to get shards for anyways.
I feel like season 6, that as we go into the last 5 weeks it will do the same as season 5, the upcoming requirements are crazy. Daisy's star chaser box for example, is it bugged? For star tokens it only showed up for me for one day, so I only got to buy two of them. Didn't even get any shards from those two pulls, it hasn't shown up again. What was the point then if I can't buy it each day and get actual shards eventually? So I haven't been able to unlock her. It feels like the season starts off strong, but then quickly goes downhill as the requirements for events, move into the "no non-paying player has these" state.
I'm fine, but with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth only days away, I gotta think about what I've like more. More tokens to try and get the racers, or Final fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Well I like the changes. And I don't have a problem with Season Tour requiring rare racers cause those are all for optional rewards and not required for the main rewards. This imo is just a way to reward the long time/paying players for their support. And the addition of Season Tour gives new players the ability to catch up by showing the same support. I did not fully complete a Season Tour in Season 3 and 4, but did manage to in Season 5 so it's not coming from someone who never had issues completing them. Also they just released the new Star Chaser with Daisy which is for sure much more rare than Goofy and Elizabeth, but I would agree that having had Shang, Jessie and Elizabeth multiple times, but not a single one with Buzz or Sulley is a bit unfair to new players. That's an aspect that I'm unsure if they're changing, but they definitely should.
I love the game but it makes me confused. I need Shang and Mulan to progress but I don’t know how to get them specifically . I read that before you could do “bloom in adversity” event but I can’t find it and I’m just stuck with a lot of medals 😒

I think the season tour and season box changes are both MAJOR issues the way Gameloft implemented them. They both incentive people spending money (and I mean LOTS of money) into the game, and I get it from a business view, but it's a bit predatory for a game designed and suited for children and casual players. They dont grant you getting the character you want Nor leveling it up to the level you want despite the amount of pulls (or money) invested in it, and knowing what you'll need in future weeks just feeds anxiety and pushes people to spend in order to get what's "needed" to progress...and above all, restricts your freedom to manage your account... For example: Now I "must" get Lilo shards and level her up to 35 just to get 3 medals in a season tour race, when I dont even like her at all...its a shame the path Gameloft is taking
In season 6 needs season tour to be fixed, many rewards, bonus upgrades, rewards crew members, etc, this might be required some major fixes in the next season, don't give us a harder rewards in season tour
I don't think this season is any different than the last in grand scheme of things. Ranked matchmaking balance is just as destroyed as it become with start of last season, nothing was done about it. Season tour retains the same level of absurd just in a different way - they switched from extreme level requirements to wide range of requirements instead (wide collection check from level check). Either way new and casual players are screwed and shop is the answer providing...actually not even an instant solution to manufactured problem because it's either a gacha box or insufficient pack. This time the biggest halt is in mid season racers as only about ~30% of F2P player base has them in the first place, though epic racers also pose a notable problem as universal box is bloated and you can't racer boost someone you don't have. Thing is that in season 4 if you started at the beginning of it you could 100% the tour if you somehow foreseen the final Mickey and Donald requirements. Since then such feat is impossible even for those S4 players, like myself. Even with ability to plan ahead I can clearly see I'm not going to have some racers anyway and with medal requirement for final box this time...this is so tight that I'm not certain I will hit it, I might but time and RNG will tell. That so many racer-balance changes were made feels like such a non existent matter given unless you already are lvl 40-45 you will be matched with people 10-15 levels above making any balance irrelevant as it almost never is a fair race in the first place. That starts to matter likely above Champion but most seem to stop at Diamond or at rank below for the upgrade parts given 1v1s are a problem attempted to fix across a few patches by now.

A casual player never gonna get a 45-50 character even him got the shars bc he needs the resource to upgrade and that its another issue bc its only obtainible in pvp... Its hilarius

Thats the price for dont put money in this game, or pray to rng when you open boxs for the only one shard do you need get. And i only spend 30 min every day in this game, i have 4 characters at 45 and a lot in 25-35, started play in season4.
The events are just bad, everything worthile is locked behind paid characters (Ariel) or events to unlock some characters required for the tour does not give shards unless you already own then (Figment)
I 100% disagree with your statement that you got Frozen characters to 5 stars and most players should have gotten four stars. Elsa was one of the hardest to get and I think shes at 3 stars. Generally, you get your racers to two or three stars if you play the game daily and then you grind to get 4-5 stars, which most players wont want to do. Other than that comment, I agree that the separate season boxes are a nice option especially if you're planning for the harder chapter requirements in later races in the season tour but I feel too far invested to give up and its frustrating because I love the game but I hate some of the P2W mechanics.

I got Hans and kristoff to 5 stars, Anna to 4 and the rest to 3 it just depended on how lucky you got with the season box pulls 🤷🏻♂️
