Looks cheap. Everyone looks ridiculous and of course they picked two androgenous looking kids and the others to cover all the DEI boxes. Nevermind that no one ever thought Steve looked like Jack Black in a blue shirt.
Out of all of the things wrong with this trailer conceptually, why did you choose to say “the kids look kind of androgynous, therefore DEI”. Its such a non-criticism, like, wow there are two pretty average looking younger people in the movie, ok and?
@@kitsune630 it's another example of woke casting. Both children look like they could be a boy or a girl. That's the point. The studios still have this woke agenda ahead of making art. That's why they cast two box office draw, Momoa and Black. They don't care if you like it. They want the most people to buy a ticket as possible. Hence the casting of these ambiguous looking kids and an overweight black girl. Have you been living under a rock or are you happy with what's going on in Hollywood?
About your points, replicating source material is not always respecting it.
For example some trees are not consistent with their size and the terrain looks unnatural for minecraft. It's okay to have some differences like windmills or whatever, but if you overdo it, what's the point of making a minecraft adaptation in the first place?
Also the characters seem to despise everything about minecraft, they visibly don't wanna be here.
People just want a movie with similar style to minecraft update animations instead of hiring jack black with a v-neck blue tshirt
its just the trailer, just like sonic they can fix a lot of stuff. The only thing that they cant fix is steve.... Unless they switch the actors but thats not an option because it would cost too much to do it again and its already been months of filming
I don't understand why ppl hate it so much, but I do relate to the feeling the movie isn't that good. first of all, the visuals are really good personally speaking. The movie production crew dint wanted to go accurate to how the game functions it's not that big of a deal but what really pisses me off is that the characters like the pink guy and the little girl and the fat one are SOOO not funny. their reaction and dialogue were so bad in the trailers when they revealed Steve the best response they could think of was "pfft okay" and "this guy is such a tool bag"? when the black girl saw that sheep only thing, she could think of was "what the hell?" is humor dead in this movie? and what the fk happened to Steve? Some guy with a blue shirt? that's what their budget could afford? the pink guy dressed like a homeless person? and the piglins sheep the lama is so bad why did they gave them human fked up teeths? the whole aesthetics of the mobs feels like it needs a re-work. this whole movie feels like the targeted audience in 8-year-olds because they won't complain

The SCALE changes in every shot and is super inconsonant, the Mobs are "square" but also "hyper Realistic" witch alone is a fine style, but then you have NORMAL PELPLE??? Also the 'funny goat meme' that Hollywood has used like 5 times since its fame back in what 2013? You can say 'i think it looks cool' but that's just an opinion not shared by many, lazy and wrong imo.
Yes, i didn't mention the scale because it's not something that the audience would see at first glance, same with the semi realistic mob, and to top it off we can all agree that real life humans in a blocky world is just far off from a proper Minecraft story visually, and it should've go with full animation

the movie looks awesome and appropriate... dunno why everyone is hating so much... and it's good it's with live actors ~ all the youtube minecraft videos have blocky characters
I think those people who fully disagree with the trailer might have a solid reason...but i dunno maybe that's just me
