32bit float is a thing!!
I know about that. But just creating “headroom” in the mix doesn’t cost time or more resources. Creating that headroom gives flexible to push your faders around.

From the volume meter It feels like there is a bit compression on the original vocals, is. There?
You can’t tell compression from the volume meters. You can tell by hearing it and if it sounds unbalanced in loudness level then it’s most likely uncompressed
@@SCTUTS by compression I meant a bit of control, if there wasn't anything on it, what mic and what conditions was it record on?

It did sound a bit cleaned up lol
TH-cam compresses any sound you upload that’s why it sound a bit compressed but I don’t think it was
he emphasizing on gain staging means he either went to sound engineering school or he has years of experience
