    Hi Stef. Thank you so much for making these videos. I did subscribe a while ago...and trying to work through all of them. So much great info...real, honest info. In the past weeks, I have seriously considered leaving the States and am trying to learn as much as I can through these videos. I figure 2-3 years, after my daughter graduates high school. In the meantime, research (thanks to your videos) and getting my affairs in order ! Thank You !!!

    Hi Stefs, found your YT vlog very informative, hope you can let me know about 1) there is a bus now from the airport to Mira Flores, want to know where they drop 2) whats the voltage in Peru thanks.

    • @StefsPeruTravelTips
      @StefsPeruTravelTips  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The voltage is 220V. The bus you're talking about his drop offs at several locations. Check their site out to see which one is the best for you. Airport Lima Express. Hope that helps!

    Hi Stef. In Europe it's not about generosity. Don't feel guilty if you come here and don't tip, this is not required, because In many countries here waiters at restaurants are paid really well, especially in Italy. Even if you don't have any degree, and you are good at your job, you can make some serious money during high season, especially if you can speak another language.
    Plus you don't treat the waiter as someone working for you, it is very rude, unless you are at those high standard restaurants.
    But even then, if the waiter was not good, you call the manager, and never make it a personal issue between you and the waiter. Basically the waiter in Europe is someone working at the restaurant, for the restaurant. But generally waiters here are really good, because if they mess around they are fired immediately.
    Personally I prefer the European system, because relying on tips is not fair, it doesn't ensure the waiter a good pay and it only helps the restaurant keep the prices low.

    Hola, we are in Lima for the first time, appreciate your videos! We were just talking about leaving tips, and if the servers made the amount that they do in the States. Seems like our 20% is a good tip, thanks for the info.

    I'm peruvian and tip is necessary, like server I received 1 dollar per hour in a part time job, in my opinion you must leave tips, here in Peru 10% is great.
    I know that in USA people leave 15 or 20% even when the server is no good. And why not leave tip in Peru?

    I've been to Peru twice and I tip 20% like I do here in America. My sis in law who lives in Peru thinks I'm just giving money away. I think of it as not taking advantage of people. She said it's not normal down there to tip.... lmfao

      Yeah, some of us here don't have that custom so we feel it's wasteful.

    when i was in France tipping is not a requirement... i tipicaly give 50% or more in the US. however i have heard from several servers that Blacks here are THE worst or dont give any tip

    • @finejustgivemeaname
      @finejustgivemeaname 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's true. blacks think a $2 tip is appropriate--if they tip at all. i do have 1 black friend that goes out of his way to disprove the stereotype. unfortunately, he alone is not going to solve the problem.
      balck people reading this, learn to tip and stop looking like shit.

    Hola, Stef! Gracias por el video sobre "tipping". Buen consejo, sobre todo lo de la familia peruana, que voy a conocer dentro de pocas semanas! Me encanta tu actitud! Me parece que a lo mejor eres seguidora de "Abraham-Hicks" (ve www.abraham-hicks.com/) y La Ley de la Atraccion? Pues, yo tambien! Enhorabuena en tu TH-cam Channel y deseandote muchas mas bendiciones!

      Hola Lynn!! jaja sí! Bueno, hace años cuando empecé a ser más espiritual, seguí a Abraham-Hicks pero ya son muchos años que no sigo mucho su trabajo. Ahora más bien sigo el trabajo de emprendedores de oradores motivacionales. Si deseas, me puedes seguir en mi otro canal: Vida Sana Movement (Espanol)
      Me da gusto que te haya gustado el video. Cada familia es diferente así que no se puede decir que todas las familias manejan esta situación igual. Saludos!
