We flew home to Nashville, Tennessee for the first time since June! Nate used points to book our flights from Madrid to London’s Heathrow Airport to Chicago. We had 4 flights and went to 3 airport lounges. It was a great 24 hours of travel, and we were so happy to be home!

WHO ARE KARA AND NATE?! - We decided to take a year off to travel the world in January 2016. Daily vlogging was not the original plan, but we quickly fell in love with it and now post a video of what we do every day! About halfway through the year, we knew we weren’t going to be ready to stop traveling in December, so now we have a new goal of visiting 100 countries before 2019! Apparantly American wants their customers to fly like it's the 90's even though United and Delta have the exact same aircraft that are likely even older but have IFE's

It's so much fun to go back and watch some old vlogs from 3-4 years ago. You both have come a long way with your vlogs and I love watching them. The skateboards were awesome to see. What an incredible year. Started with you on vlog 2 because of my love for Japan(been there 4x) and you and your viewers have grown so much. Can't wait for 2017. You should do a recap of your favorite moments and destinations of 2016 and Q&A.
My best moment and destination for you: you seem to love those Hong Kong pork buns, love Hanoi's bahm mi, Nepal hiking, Greek and cheese, delicious Mauritius Samosas, and Sahara desert.
Bad moments: Tokyo capsule (lol), that never ending bus ride from Thailand to siem reap I believe, Marrakech aggressive market, and your new canon camera lens shattering.

Just started watching your vlogs and I love them!! I'd like to see a vlog maybe about the airport lounges. Not what's inside them because you guys already show that every time you go to the airport but how you guys get access to them. I don't know much about airport lounges so it would be nice to learn how to get access to them whenever I travel in the future.
I love watching your vlogs and just binge watched the Vietnam vids as I'm heading there in 2 weeks. This was so funny, especially the "oldest plane in world" comment. Look forward to seeing what adventures await in 2017. :-)

I started binge watching like two weeks back after I found out about you and I've made it this far and now I got 2 days until the final vlog and I don't know if I can make it in time :D
Happy new year to you both! I'm in Madrid with my family- back home to London tomorrow, using Iberia A346 with TVs and using your IB lounge. I agree Iberia is frustrating as they're actually one of my favourite airlines. The Emerald flyers get access to an a la carte restaurant which is enjoyable, especially with their wine list and those bedrooms where I've slept many times(I pass through many times a year), but I get annoyed with having to pay for food. Also at T3 LHR next you fly AA use the all new Cathay First Lounge, it's officially my favourite at Heathrow! It opened end of November. We all wait with baited breath as to where you will end up in 2017, but try and come back to London! Best wishes and thanks for producing all these blogs this year - incredible! Nacho PS I'll take the train to T4 Madrid from Recoletos like you guys did!

I felt your pain without the PTV's on the American airlines flight too. When I flew from Gold Coast to Singapore with Scoot airlines for 8 hours, it got so dreadfully boring.

Nashville is only 3 hours south of where I live so its pretty doubtful I will run into you guys. However have a great break at home and can't wait to see where you travel in 2017!

Kara, you probably know it by now, but you should be able to find haloumi cheese in supermarket in the US, too. At least, it’s very common here in the UK’s supermarkets. Then just grill it at home and enjoy. :)

Now that you are back, you will have travel withdraws. You'll find that people at home can't really relate to what you have experienced/learned. You'll find conversations with them a bit boring since they only want to talk about their lives. You'll have to find other people in your city who have traveled with whom you can have great conversation relating to your experience. In a few weeks time or less you will have that itch to get back on the road.
Know what might be cool? Those Raiders of the Lost Ark maps where the map with the flightpath is kind of superimposed over the plane flying (or in your case, since you're forced to shoot from the INSIDE of the plane, the view out the window. Probably a massive PITA to do, but it might be fun.

So excited for you guys to be home and have a Merry Christmas! I feel your pain about the 767! Sadly too often US carriers aren't up to the foreign carriers, in equipment (aircraft) or service (food, workers, etc). The last time I had an international flight without a TV was in 1980 on Lufthansa from Frankfurt to LA. Talk about a long flight, 11 1/2 hours with nothing to do, how did we ever survive?! 😂
+Michael Jackson first world probs I guess! At least it was safe ;) are there planes that have better cockpits than others or are they pretty standard?
Yes there are big differences in cockpits! Especially when you get to the smaller aircraft, regional planes. They are many times very cramped for the pilots and don't give much leg room. Commercial carriers also have to have at least one seat there for an observer, like the FAA to check on pilots at their discretion. This is good to ensure pilots are doing what they are supposed to do, safety for all traveling. But it's uncomfortable many times for those people because of lack of space. In the larger aircraft, there are even sleep rooms for the pilots. With the long flights, pilots are required to take breaks, so they often times get three or four hours to sleep, rest, read, whatever, away from the stress of the flight deck.
