I agree. However, I did try this on other wheel flats, and there were few times that I needed to add more spans. Still cleaner than the previous method.
That works too. I could project a curve, but with the Cos and fit curve, I can adjust the CV structure as needed. Also, I found that project curve takes a bit of time calculate. In the end, as long as you get a clean result, that's what matters.

Why don’t you project a curve instead of a CoS+fit curve? Is there an advantage doing it that way?
