This is really interesting, especially because it differs notably from the final game. I reckon the Hazard Room was added late in the development since the waypoint tutorial was present here.
It's a good thing they redesigned Octavio and the enemies. They're less goofy-looking and more intimidating in the final game.

Do you think you can look into the validity of LSoundtracker's video that claims to be the beta version of the Venice fight theme? It doesn't seem to be in this video but somehow that exists.
It's definitely not in the demo disc that i used. It's probably an even older version
i won’t lie, i preferred the thiefnet from sly 2 over sly 3. i felt like the items in sky 3 were worth less too and it took forever to get coins. i also liked the idea of the trading etc. i also prefer the chickens and cats in this, portrayed as fools it’s funny! the music is cool too. i love sly 3 now too anyways so no hate!

So the only ones who didn't change were the Cane Corso flashlight guards
The pigeons look like ghosts in mine and the 3D mode is activated and there is some weird 3D stripes effect on the screen.
This actually would've been a better first mission to start off with! It would've helped get your bearings around the first level of the game as well as make more sense lore-wise. It could've had Sly looking around for Murray and failing, so Bentley resorts to sneaking into Police HQ to find info on him instead. This way it could also reference Sly 2 in the way that both games' first levels had two starting missions instead of one.
those enemies are different, reminds me of kingdom hearts’s finale mix where the creators revisited the games change the look for some enemies and add stuff to it.

Is there a guide to play this and other alpha missions? I was on the modding discord and someone linked me to a collection of savestates for the alpha missions but I could not get them to load on the jam-pack 2005 holiday iso. Do they require a specific pcsx2 version? Or is there a cheat table guide for memory hacking the missions? Sorry for rambling
Hey.
The savestates will not work with older pcsx2 versions(like 1.4). You might need to use a newer version.
There will be a mission loader for that demo on the next version of my sly trainer. So playing those missions will be pretty much painless once i get enough time to finish that update.
@@GouStoulos according to the pcsx2 wiki there are 2 versions of the demo disc. A mature version and a teen version. Will your trainer be version specific as I can only find the mature version

Notice how there are 4 locks on the Ferris Wheel's control box. You smash it open in the final game, but I bet you had to get keys originally.

Not gonna lie while the deliver and way the line is written is hilarious, having this situation pop up so early in game could have been cool to see. Murray jumps into action in the final game because his friends where in a violent situation

This seems like an early tutorial level before the hazard room was created, not to mention, they revamped the entire first mission so that Sly instead goes to the police station to search for Murray's whereabouts.

Thanks for sharing this! Do you know if in this demo when you jump and press the square button you can keep your momentum similar to in Sly 2? That's a little detail that I always missed in Sly 3 and Thieves in Time.

I actually am doing it right now. I already had checked Sly's powerups but not for Murray and Bentley. Now that i have found the required addresses i am checking what is there.
Spoilers, it's mostly Sly 2 stuff. There are some Sly 3 stuff like the grapple cam.

Yeah i know... Probably because this was my first time recording with the pcsx2 built in tool. Which slows the game down to 30-40% speed. I eventually got used to it, and tuned it for better quality(again, in this particular recording, it is terrible)

By "poking the demo with a stick". The missions are in there, but they are not accessible without memory hacking.
TBH this level felt like episode 1 from sly 2 instead of Paris. It's Venice Italy 🇮🇹
