I remember when this song first hit the charts, I was a Cadet in the Merchant Navy and I was on a round the world voyage, this song emanated from jukeboxes all over the world from the USA, Australia, Borneo and the Far East, in all the dives that us sailors frequented . Happy memories!
Talk about a blast from the past. The weekly "Ed Sullivan Show" was a Sunday night "must watch" phenomenon in the four TV channels 1960s USA. Watched this one live as a 14 year old!
...Actually live here as well that really shows how good they were ... The young normal Rolling Stones a few years before they got too weird ..That era was so raw and great when Brian Jones was still healthy and aware and then he spiraled fast..
My favourite band since 1966 and have seen them live ten times but this tune,the best tune ever etched into vinyl,was never done that good live.The studio recording is far superior.!
The lead guitarist of Heart really looks like Luke Skywalker’s double …in the popular video Crazy On You…he actually was dressing like Skywalker…check it out
There’s a live version of this in the film “Gimme Shelter” that’s unreal. Further, check out “The Last Time,” which The Stones released even before this.
