@@ChucoHiker thank you for the reply! Is there a certain trail you’d recommend? I have never been there. My dog usually walks a good mile and a half to 2 miles.
@@shawngaillardet4478 In that area I’ve done the Rim trail, Willie White trail complex, and Benson canyon. All are good trails, but the Rim trail has a special place in my heart. Having said that, Willie White is right at Bluff Springs, and I’d recommend doing that just for the waterfall if you’ve never been. All these are longer trails, but they can be as short as you want them. Closer to Cloudcroft is the Trestle trail, which has cool views of abandoned historic train tracks, and the Osha trail. I haven’t done the Osha trail yet, but it’s a very popular loop and only 2.5 miles.
Great vid man. I've been researching the area and would love to move here. I have been looking at cloudcroft and ruidoso for raising a family. What's your opinion on the area? Any other towns around you would suggest I look? Thanks in advance, and great video! Such a beautiful place.
Thank you! I’m in the El Paso area and I love it here! I haven’t really looked into either Ruidoso or Cloudcroft for raising a family, so I don’t have much input in that regard. I love heading to these areas to get into the outdoors and escape the summer heat though!
Thank you for watching! There is definitely no shortage of deadfall in this area. It’s been a while since I did this loop, but it is a 15 mile loop; so for me it’s pretty much an all day commitment for a day hike including the drive there and back.
@@acpatel1981 It’s as safe as it gets out there. I’ve done that entire loop with my oldest son when he was about 13 or 14 years old. I’ve taken all three of my kids to that area many times since they were little. I haven’t seen a black bear yet, but they are in the area. They typically leave people alone. My advice is to always hike safe and take the usual hiking precautions. Bring your kids, they will have fun!
@@Roybatty066 Very cool! I love hiking up there 🙂 I’ve only done the Willie White complex, trails around Bensen Canyon, the Trestle trail, and the Rim Trail. The Rim trail is one of my favorite summer routes! I need to explore more up there though. Y’all getting a lot of snow this weekend?
@@ChucoHiker A ton. 4 wheel drive vehicles getting stuck. It's almost snowed heavy every week for the past 2 months. People from all over drive up here to see the snow. The Mountain gives but it takes away too.
Do you know if it’s dog friendly? If so, I’m definitely going next week.
This area is definitely dog friendly, my dogs love it out here.

Nice video! Music was great. There seemed to be a lot of deadfall on parts of the trail. How long did the hike take?

The sun setting at the end was a really cool shot. Nice trails.
Thanks! The timing worked out well with the sunset and trail exit. I love desert hiking, but getting into the woods was a nice change of pace.
Is it safe to trail? I will be doing it for the first time with kids. Does it has a danger of bears?

@@ChucoHiker Thank you for sharing your experience and kind words.👍
@ Of course! Hope your family enjoys the experience 🙂
Liked it, but couldn't finish it, music too much. Cheers.
Thank you for watching and for the feedback on the music. It is a beautiful area, hopefully you get a chance to visit it if you haven’t already. 🙏

You don't wanna know what has occurred on that walking bridge. Large Marge Mary and her shenanigans.
Hmmm, I agree that it is best that I am kept out of the know heh-heh.
