    How do you sort your parts?

    My partner and I recently got into the hobby. I grabbed all my old stuff (thankfully my parents never gave it away!!) and we have been watching tons of videos and reading and looking at containers to figure out how to sort. This is the first video that really clicked with me. Succinct video and logical system that's realistic for smaller spaces and budgets. Subscribing!

    I have 3 Ikea Alex drawer units behind my desk, and on my desk a bunch of small parts organisers, the type meant for screws and stuff. It works really well for me. Only problem? The collection keeps growing, and I keep running out of space!
    Very enjoyable video by the way, great presentation.

      Thanks for watching, it was my first time experimenting with this kind of video.
      Similar setup as mine, I have one drawer unit, but very full now 😅

    This is very nice. I am looking to expand my sorting Because right now I have it sorted but in big boxes. So like all tiles no matter what size in one box and all plates no matter the size in one box. And that’s not optimal so it’s good to see what options there is out there.😄👍

      Thank you for watching my friend, with a growing collection always need to sort a little better, but then will be easier to build as well

    Great idea for sorting. I often see those IKEA shelves in background of other TH-camr videos and it’s good to hear your perspective. I’ve also tried other methods but something like this seems like an effective and clean way to do it and minimize clutter. I’m going to try to build a DIY size sorter first which I think will help separate pieces easily, then try to get a nice organization method like you’re showing here. Thank you for the video!

      I believe bigger drawers are more efficient compare to the small one

    lol. right now i'm on the briefcase stage)) and yeah, its a pain. i cant fit all the cases around me. i have to stand up, go to the bed, grab a part - its nuts.
    But i have discovered smth - get the cases with individual detachable cells. it allows u to grab one compartment and spill everything out, easily reaching parts at the bottom\getting full view. Scratching parts one by one from a compoartment you cant topple over cause its attached to others is pain.
    OR sort by part AND color so there s never a need to get the bottom part. cause they all are the exact same part. but it requires much more cells.

      @ABrickDreamer  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Having separate cells definitely helps, but it's definitely a pain to take out everything all the times. The drawers were game changing for me.

      @@ABrickDreamer I mean have separate cells IN the drawers, not just a lot with separators

    Very interesting. I do the the opposite. I can't use trays because everything has to be packed into a cupboard, so it is all in boxes. It is both by colour and part type depending on which pieces, bricks are all by colour. I run a Google Sheet with all my pieces and imported it into Bricklink seller account so I can almost instantly see all the pieces I have, by color or type or quantity or search. I can also build quickly but I have to clear the table and stack all the boxes around like walls. I think I prefer what you have done but it is not available to me for practical reasons.

      Everyone need to find the solution they’re comfortable with, also taking into consideration the space we have available, that’s always a problem for most builders

    Someone was literally throwing out a long version of those ikea draws, no damage out on the curb last week. Luckiest find ever. I recently tried to use up and organise all my lego parts and generally sorted by part type then colour.. so like a stack of 4x4 grey brick will go on another stack of 4x4 dark grey and then a seperate stack for say light purple/dark purple/pink etc.

      Always good to keep it tidy and organized, I love my Ikea drawer, so easy to reach all my parts
