It's understandable that the author never imagined Naruto being this long, since success is largely unpredictable, but at the same time in my eyes it's not really a good series. Not to say it isn't fun to watch, I used to watch and read it when I was like 16, but as far as series go I can't rate it very highly. That being said, as a wise man once said: "Different strokes for different folks."
RandomGuy Most of the contradictions are really minor ^_^. Only one or two are complete major ones, but most of them only affect the power-scaling of the characters! As I said, PreWar/Pain Arc was actually well done, and the series could've ended there! And Yep, Different Strokes for different folks indeed!

I just remember being annoyed because things would constantly happen that didn't make sense because of something or other that had happened before. I guess my preferences have just changed. I find I like worlds that aren't self-contradictory even if the base plot isn't quite as good. One of the things that irked me the most about the series was definitely the power scaling though. It started out with the Tailed Beasts being legendary creatures capable of relatively easily destroying nations and if sealed acting as the equivalent of a nuke in today's world (as in a form of deterrence), with ninjas being extremely powerful, but not ridiculously so. And then when Shippuden came around Tailed Beasts basically were basically turned into just a minor annoyance and ninjas were boosted to the point where pretty much most of the main characters were capable of destroying nations. I don't mind when the main character becomes super overpowered since it can be explained as the main character being an abnormality, but when basically teams of people get ridiculously overpowered, it just doesn't make sense. It's essentially turning a 0.0001% chance and raising it to the power of like 60 (0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 this except double the number of zeroes). That's why I hate when people complain in a lot of series that the love interest is useless, because it just makes sense that she would be, just like it makes sense that if a female is overpowered then chances are the male won't be (eg. Monogatari).
This line "And all the pain is to protect to see you one last time" makes me tear up some but not really cry, I understand this line in a personal stand point and it was amazing man.
+Absolute Light i'm pretty sure that even if you do the short version, you need to do licensing. i think doing short versions of songs means that nate can put out more covers, because a long version takes a ton of time to do.
