Lovely top. I see so much potential. I just watched today. I’m recuperating from vacation. I do have plans for doing some tank tops and will definitely keep this one in mind.
Wooly nylon can be used as a outer edge finish because it gives nice coverage because the fibers spread out over the edge. So yes used in a looper. My understanding is that it will melt if you hit it with an iron. I cannot confirm as I have never pressed those garments.
Please explain what you are sewing or serging before you do it. I can’t follow the sequence or techniques as you are going so fast. What edges did you just serge and top stitch? Arm holes, necklines and hems? I serge a lot but haven’t done this edge finish.
All the edges are serged, then turned under the seam allowance of 3/8" and top stitched. That is all. I did the hem, the neck edge and the armholes, so was just going a bit fast. Hope that helps. Those directions are in the guide sheet.
I have made this top many times, and will make it many more! It is super with a skirt added on, too!
This is such a fun and beautiful variation on a tank. It's so classy and cool. Thankyou for sharing your knowledge and ideas!
It is great to see the fabrics you feature on TH-cam because you show the transparency and the drape. I find it so helpful.
Hmm. Could you make this reversible? It would be such a great travel piece.
